A Typical Day in the Life of a Let's Run Addict

- Wake up at 10 in parents' basement.

- Think about going for a run, decide not to bother.

- Eat whatever requires the least amount of effort.

- Log-on to letsrun and skip straight to the message board.

- Spend several hours relentlessly accusing anyone except god-fearing, English-speaking white folk of taking drugs. Make a few homophobic comments. Ask why the moderators removed the thread about which female steeplechaser has the best breasts. Call all muslims lazy.

- Go back to bed for a couple of hours.

- Check to see if anyone has replied to posts. Find that question to moderators has been removed and all other posts have been ignored. Post the same again on another thread.

- Eat whatever mum cooks.

- Abuse self.

- Go to bed.

Wake up at 6:30 to Weimaraner licking face

Shower

Kiss wife goodbye as she leaves for work

Make coffee

Go to work

Check Letsrun and internal work site

work

Read letsrun at lunch

work

letsrun

work

go home

run if knees feel good (and I'm only 24)

cook dinner with wife

Wii or counter-strike

bed

7:30 alarm goes

do back stretches, jump out of bed, get ready for work, rush.

8:30 arrive in work

check emails, check LR, work

12:00 - lunch (30 mins), go outside, walk around

12:30 work, try not to get distracted by LR

4:30 leave work

4:45 arrive at home, do housework, watch TV, pay bills

6:00 get changed for training

6:15 leave for training

6:30 arrive at track

8:00 get home again

see friends on some nights or spend time on phone

try not to go on LR from home due to dry eye probs linked to computer.

11:00 go to bed.

My Summer schedule

2 pm wake up from a night of binge drinking

2:30 check Letsrun for news updates on home page

3:00 eat lunch at Subway

3:30 Finish sub at computer while looking at letsrun

4:00 take a nap

4:30 walk back to subway for another sub

5:00 Watch the simpsons untill 6

6:30 decides it's time to hydrate

7:00 run 65 minutes

8:30 check letsrun before getting a shower

9:00 call sum buddies to find out who is drinking

9:30 begin drinking

2:00 am stumble home to check letsrun

2:30 still trying to figure out what my password for my sn is again

3:00 figure it out and post a drunk response that will get deleted before I wake up the next morning.

4:00 Sleepy time

God I'm glad I'm 30. I couldn't drink that much anymore. Heck, I couldn't when I was 21, either.

so maybe staring at the ceiling mid-morning and deciding to start drinking rather than try hobbling around the block is normal?

Wake up

Dropped off before sun's up, warmup in darkness and by end of it sun peeks through mountain. Start 6-8 Miler w/e quality it is and "magically" end up at work. Highest EFFORT, while relaxed

Eat food, do Math all day.

Get dropped off on the way home for 4-6 Miler by EFFORT comfort level. *Not HRM crap. All lies.*

Hit home do every possible physical labor possible.

700AM Wake up so I don't FEEL like a lazy slob

Think about going on a run, realize it to hot or I am to tight and go back inside

Scrounge up breakfast and eat

Check Letsrun, Yahoo Finance (laugh at neb when I check oil), go look for last post made by neb, right a scathing remark under different name each time

Read Steve Scott's log hoping for inspiration

830AM Start looking through medical school secondaries wondering which to work on

Choose the same secondary as the day before to work on

Stare at secondary prompts which inevitably leads me back to letsrun

Read new Letsrun posts, wonder if txRunnergirl really thinks she is funny

1200 Grab some lunch and think about cross back in college

Do some serious work on secondaries and look for a job online, all the while wondering what I am missing on letsrun

Walk outside to ensure myself it is still hot

check letsrun once more to make sure neb has not posted anything lately

Watch 530 news and laugh at liberals, watch 600 news and laugh at more liberals

Go run, wish it was not so hot, wonder if I am over trained again, wonder what it would be like to be able to run world record mile pace and not feel fatigued at all, consider buying EPO designed for pets only $50 just to see...

Get back, eat dinner, check letsrun, get shower, look for a post to call potd, criticize wejo because i am jealous criticize rojo becuase he annoys me.

**after all of my letsrun postings go back and read them laughing at my wittiness and then feeling depressed as I notice spelling errors: "oh man I am going to get ripped for that one"

6:00 - alarm goes off. either hit snooze (usually) or, if I'm feeling motivated, plod around the block for 3-4 miles at about the same pace as a drunken snail

6:45 - shower, or actually wake up depending on above

7:00 - get dressed, eat breakfast, make lunch

7:10 - leave for work

7:30 - work

8:00 - enter yesterday's (and maybe today's) run into Athleticore, stalk all the Hansons runners and all my friends

9:00 - maybe some more work

9:15 - poop

9:30 - local running sites

12:00 - lunch while reading book I brought in

12:50 - whoops, too long of a lunch

1:00 - letsrun

2:15 - whoops, supposed to be working

2:30 - read The Onion

3:30 - whoops, supposed to be working

3:45 - letsrun

4:00 - leave work

4:30 - arrive home, gag at aroma of unwashed dishes, unwashed roommate, unwashed running shoes, and a plethora of other material possessions past the "wash-or-toss" point

5:00 - go run

6:30 - maybe do abs and pushups

7:00 - shower

7:15 - sit naked at my computer on letsrun

7:45 - get dressed, make some dinner, girlfriend comes over

9:00 - watch tv with roommate and girlfriend

10:00 - too tired for sex, go to bed and pass out

then finally making it around the block ez to feel oh so much more validated posting on the letsrun boards. yes, priceless. must be feeling all the love through this virtual support group. your warm fuzzies just made me float all the way back here to the LR box. thx guys.

God I wish I could get up past 5, youll have the life getting to work at 9. I do get off at 2:15, but that doesn't make up for it.
