Reparations NOW ! wrote:
Kevin, you are looking at the public reaction to Vick and Armstrong. Good choice. The dual examples typify the deep divide that the is present in the U.S. when it comes to race. The U.S. has still not reconciled with the crime of slavery which lasted for over 400 years. More than half of the population of the South were African slaves. In the U.S. racial segregation is still the norm. The U.S. has not apologized nor paid reparations for slavery. The U.S. still perpetuates racism in many parts of the world, especially the Middle East.
Well, by that logic, blacks haven't apologized or made reparations for dragging the country down over the past 100+ years. Just look at the court systems, schools, welfare, estate taxes, etc. Thanks to blacks, we have overburdened court systems, exploding prison populations, rampant welfare, crime, crime, crime, babies with no father around, the inner cities have been decimated as everyone else tries to get out of there, declining test scores, and so on. Yet when it comes time to do the hard work, it's the Mexicans who step up to the plate and get it done without complaining.
Damn, invent something. Create something of value. Have a good idea occasionally. It's not a damn game to see how much wealth can be transferred from whites and Asians to blacks. Why the hell should some races keep other races afloat? Let them go down the tubes, just not here. The worst mistake this country ever made was slavery, and we are paying the price dearly right now. The greatest transfer of wealth that has ever occurred is society trying to prop up blacks. No reparations are necessary at all.
