This is true in theory, but I challenge you to identify one trans individual that is not severely mentally ill in some other way. eg a woman who is normal and well-adjusted by any other metrics, but just happens to be male. I suggest that you will not be able to find such a person. I know a few transgender individuals, every one of them has major issues, of which being trans is one. And even if we were to act like being trans is not a major red flag, there are plenty more red flags anyway. It would take a some major willful ignorance to not see it in every case I've seen. It's in my family, and a few people I know.

OBVIOUSLY men are bigger, stronger, faster than women, so how in the hell can some guy not get that fact? We have no business competing vs smaller, weaker, slower athletes.

Ok, but this issue is part of what put that maniac in the White House. It was an unnecessary own goal by Democrats, and a mistake that needs to not be made again. Speaking as a progressive myself.
