I work with models. Literally on-set at shoot rn, waiting for selects.
Mu's only avenue with modeling is as a celebrity, not as a model. She doesn't live in NYC, she's not repped by an agency, she's not in the fashion world.
She's not a model. She's a celeb.
You are correct. That said, she is enough of an elite athlete and has enough of "the look" (thin, tall enough, exotic) that an agency such as IMG may be able to find high end print work for her.

Most fashion forward people know that. But unfortunately there are plenty that are ignorant on the topic. It’s obvious she’s not a true fashion model and is getting gigs and obviously small one and far between because she’s an Olympian. It ends there and soon
Many runners (definitely myself for example) reach a point where race anxiety is too much to handle. And the 800m is a very anxiety-provoking race.
I remember when I was young I used to look forward to the adrenaline rush and physical pain of racing. Some years later, my mentality on the starting line was like
"Why did I sign up for this? Oh well. I did all this training, so might as well make it count ..."
Then some years after that, it shifted to
"I really don't want to be here. Gosh, I hope I don't find myself in a position to win, because then I'll have to actually push myself. I just want to get this over so I can enjoy the rest of my day (assuming I don't bomb the race, and the new norm is for me to bomb 2/3rds of races). If I could go back in time, I would not sign up for this, 100%. "
Why should she run? She's making millions in her modeling career
Looking back, Athing saying she was looking for modeling opportunities was the beginning of the end. Could have been the GOAT, but I guess just too clueless about what it takes to be the best.
Ive said this here many times, but running the 800m just sucks in general. the training is brutal, the races are gutwrenching, its overall just REALLY exhausting mentally to do it again and again and again. no matter how talented you are.
not many 800meter runners last for more than a 3-4 year window. after awhile you get burned out.
as someone that ran the 800m in HS and college I fully understand if shes done.

Should have run indoor? My expectations are much lower than that - how about the bare basics of professionalism? Update the fans on what the hell is up. We currently have zero idea if she is a) retired b) pregnant c) still with Nike?

The only expectations you should have to answers is if you subscribe to her OnlyFans. If you don't choose to subscribe then join the majority of track fans who have exited the sport as its DOA. Is Michael Johnson pregnant or still with Nike? You need to learn the new definition of professionalism.
Athing adheres to the entire Kersee training regime except refuses the shots. This is the outcome. The rest of his athletes do the gear and hence Syd.
Nah that main problem is Kersee wouldn’t let her do the 400, which might have been a nice step away from the 800 and running in packs.
Is Mu a slave? If she wants to run the 400, she is clearly able. Is Nike going to defund her or is Kersee going to whip her? Get real. Your Kersee slave master comment is the dumbest on the board and that is saying something.
Everyone needs to calm down and stop taking crap about her. It’s not even February 2nd yet. 🙄🙄
Preyong that she comes back. Talent never goes away — she’ll be back and to honestly good on her for setting boundaries. She doesn’t need to respond to letsrrun or anymore and or prove anything to anyone.
Bunch of children on here, including those who run letsrun.

He wanted her to do the 800/1500 and I’m sure if she was insistent on the 400, she would be expected to find another coach. SML is his star. This isn’t about being a “slave master;” this is about agreements made and expectations when you join a coach/team.
you must be young .it's been obvious to those of us that have run track and continue to follow the sport, that her running career jumped the sharkat her olympic experience. she succeeded off raw talent and nothing else. her "running mind" and tactics never developed past college. it's pretty obvious to some of us that she can take it or leave it. not really committed to running.

Should I go on and on?
I hate to feed the troll that runs the site but this is too much, you got me. In refuting the notion that "not many" is ridiculous, you cite... 3 individuals, each legends of the sport?
I'm glad you guys made the site, and hiring JG is the best decision you ever made but damn do I think I'd find better uses of my time if I was in your shoes. Grow up!
