But these days, there’s little reason to believe any African is clean. Over 400 Kenyans alone being suspended is a sign of a problem. A huge problem.
Afrophiles always try to twist things. In before cries of “ray-ciss” are fired off.
It doesn't matter whether it's 1 or 400. The incidence of a single known doper is enough to that the county of origin of that doper is now a doping country. Otherwise, what is your doper amount minimum? 10 positive tests? 50? 400? 1,000? You see it's too subjective otherwise. Kenya may just have more positive tests because they are doing far more than other countries like the United States or Ethiopia at testing and identifying the cheaters. So you could make the opposite case that Kenya is actually a rule-following non cheating country with a lower incidence of doped athletes who make it past quality testing.
I asked chat GPT and it said that there was a 1-5% chance of Mo Katir doping.
Mohamed "Mo" Katir is a Spanish middle-distance and long-distance runner who has quickly become one of the top names in European athletics, particularly in the 1500 meters, 5000 meters, and mile. His rise to prominence has been notable, and he's seen as a rising star in the global track and field scene. Key Facts about Mo Katir: Nationality: Spanish Primary Events: 1500m, 5000m, Mile Odds Estimate: Given that there is no direct evidence or accusations against him and that Spain has been working hard to clean up its anti-doping efforts in recent years, the odds of Mo Katir being involved in doping are likely low. Speculatively, one could say the odds of Mo Katir doping are in the 1-5% range based on general trends in the sport, his rise through hard work, and the clean image he has cultivated. This would reflect the statistical likelihood of any elite athlete being involved in doping, but not necessarily implying that Katir himself is guilty of such behavior. Conclusion: While doping remains a concern in many elite sports, there is currently no credible evidence linking Mo Katir to performance-enhancing drugs. His success appears to be based on talent, hard work, and a solid training program, and his clean image should be respected until proven otherwise.
Funny, and interesting. So I asked chatgpt the same question I asked grok (see page 1 here):
"how many elite runners are doping"
Chatgpt:
"Bottom line: While we don’t know the exact percentage, credible studies suggest that 20–40% of elite runners may dope at some point in their careers, far exceeding the number actually caught by testing. Let me know if you want sources or more on how athletes avoid detection."
Funny that Katir got put at 1 - 5%. So I used your wording:
"How big is the chance of Mo Katir doping?"
Chatgpt:
"My estimated assessment If I had to put a rough probability given what is known: There’s a moderately high level of suspicion (not certainty) that something improper beyond just paperwork is possible. But without evidence of drug use, the chance of actual doping (using banned substances) is not proven — maybe somewhere in the middle ground: e.g. 40‑60% in the sense of “could be, but not confirmed.”
There's also no consistency. If Rupp is a high likelihood of doping because of the Salazar connection, so too should every other Salazar runner be mentioned as well.

Numbers matter. You’re just engaging in disingenuous pilpul to deflect. It wasn’t Kenyans who caught most of those Kenyans, but you already know this.
He sure doesn’t “read” like Coevett’s stuff. His posts are easily identifiable generally. However, the poster in question doesn’t come off as racist either (unless one is an apologist for rampant African doping). He does come off as rather blunt though.
I’m amazed at the inconsistencies and idiosyncrasies littered throughout its answer. Sometimes it put the nationality after the person’s name, sometimes it didn’t (I couldn’t find a discernible pattern).
It also denotes Joshua Cheptegei’s times as “Ugandan WRs”…that’s not a thing, they’re just world records. Maybe it forgot a semicolon between Ugandan and WRs? If so, what was the point of listing Ugandan if there would be no commentary on it afterwards?
I dunno man, people keep jacking up my electricity bill for this A.I. crap and I’m unimpressed
Habz at 50% and Cheryiot at 55% is hilarious for opposite reasons. Habz is 100% a doper and he was one of the ones France got a free pass for in an Olympic year, and his form carried over to this year. He has to get off the sauce for Worlds and look what happened.
Potato Tim is probably the least likely Kenyan to be doping that there is. No shady connections, talent from a young age, best in the World at 23, Olympic silver at 25, and a gradual decrease in ability since then which fits perfectly with normal aging.

I agree with Habz being 100%, but not your take on Cheryiot.
The connections are with his close training partner and best friend Manangoi being banned (and his brother running away and then never breaking 3:36 again either). Both of them were obviously on drugs and they were Tim's two main training partners and friends. Tim himself started declining less than a year after Manangoi's ban and is wildly inconsitent (race to race).
His other connection is 400+ distance running doping busts in Kenya, including the two best Kenyan 1500m guys before him (Kiprop and Manangoi).
People here think that Jake Wightman and Keely are doping, but Tim gets a pass because he's obviously a nice guy??
At this point, believing there are any world class Kenyans let alone dominant champions not doping, is like saying that there is one top Mafia member 'who never carries a weapon' (because he has a nice smile).
I'm an old person and I've loved track and field since I was a kid but now with all of the suspicious activities and uncertainties of who's doing what as pertains to doping has made a near complete mess of the sport and is just flat out disappointing. I still love running itself but for me it has reduced the excitement and joy I used to get from the sport.

Keely = yes
Wightman = no
I still thoroughly believe that there are in fact talented Kenyans who are clean. I would bet the house on David Rudisha being clean. There have to be others too.

Yeah have heard stuff about Habz but not this Olympic French one. Can you add some details ?
Also a bit weird he runs 3'27 well paced in June but cant pass the 1st round in September with no injuries being mentioned. Still shocked.

For Keely its linked to the group set up.
Like Bell gets a 10s PB over 1500 (2nd year back running) and now runs 1'54 800 too. seems dodgy. Especially as Keely had supposedly a grade 3 tear in June but runs 1'54 in August. Only way is through high tech injection in a 20k day clinic.
