I don’t see how her performance would “silence” haters. Typically that’s done when someone’s performance is counter to a common criticism of them. If you think she doped, every performance from here on out is going to be tainted by that this doesn’t change anything. If you believe her, it’s a good finish in a slow race, but with her age and no worlds next year, this was realistically her last shot at a global medal and she missed that.
Her run was super impressive in my mind. She showed no fear in leading and still had a good kick at the end.
PS. After I was done, one media guy said, "We've never seen anyone record a film in the mixed zone before."
Ah yes, silenced haters by runnjng way off her PR amd finishjng 4th in a slow race where she got dropped hard in the last lap. Anyone can lead MOST of a slow race.

I am tired of the media referring to fans who are pro clean sport as “haters”. 1. Its enormously cowardly and hypocritical. 2. You only do this when it comes to Shelby Houlihan, fans aren’t ‘haters’ when it comes to Fred Kerley, Raven Saunders, or any foreign athlete who is popped. That proves your favoritism towards her. 3. It’s dismissive of the issue of doping in sport. Shelby tested positive and served a four year ban. People don’t like or trust athletes who do this. Why when it comes to Shelby, are the fans suddenly the bad guys? Why isn’t the responsibility on how she is perceived on her?
You don’t realize how much you are actually hurting the sport by doing stuff like this. Even if you are making this weird exception for only one doper, you make it look like you don’t care about drugs writ-large. People are getting more and more disinterested. They are turning away from the sport at the professional level. How do you not see that you are the problem when you do this?
The video was not that interesting. You didn’t ask her anything engaging. you asked her about Nadia Barcoletti's dad which frankly was actually weird. Nadia, unlike Shelby has not served a doping ban. Why are you trying to inject suspicion on her when you are talking to someone who literally served a ban?
You are haters because you still hate her even though she served her time. The punishment has ended. Time to end the hate.
Per the current rules sure. But the rules are wrong. Anyone caught doping deserves a lifetime ban. You think it's fair when a drunk driver kills someone and gets out after 5 years? Houlihan is a no good dirty doper, and she will ALWAYS be remembered as a cheat. It's disgusting that this guy and others keep platforming her and I think it's despicable that other pro runners still praise this woman online. You like your former teammate as a friend even though she tainted the image of your livelihood? Fine. But don't get on here and publicly praise her. It's a bad look.
Many act like the testing system is perfect - it isn't. Shelby never had a positive test prior or missed test. I also want to know what the biological passport is supposed to show in situation like this? Had she admitted guilt her ban would have only been two years but she accepted four years because she didn't knowingly dope. If I recall the type of drug in her system was not typical for doping pill rather than injection. I give her benefit of the doubt given her prior history. USADA, WADA, and CAS are not all on the same page how they litigate these matters and athletes pay the price. Shelby showed alot of heart and guts not only in the race but for years training on her own to prepare.
