Coburn posted on Instagram a story about a run/workout with Valby. Either Valby is just visiting to train with a NB runner or she moved and is in this group
I recall Valby mentioning that Coburn was her favorite runner growing up, and they’re both NB athletes. Throw in the fact that Boston sucks, and it all makes sense. It could just be a trial period to see how she likes it.
H'm. So a runner can sign a purported 850K contract with one team, and just go to another? Cool.
Do you really not understand even the simplest aspects of this sport? She signed a contract with a company—New Balance. Somebody above already explained this to you. Both teams in question are sponsored by New Balance.
Coburn cross trains but when she is healthy, she’s doing 80 mile weeks. She’s pounding pavement and the track. She didn’t become a world champion primary cross training.
Maybe altitude will help PV
Gabbi has yet to make a team.
I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Valby is going to have a successful career wherever she goes. If she can’t ever do relatively high mileage (70+ /week) she’ll never be relevant. Even if she can’t sorta stay with the pack, she’s going to continue to get her doors blown off the last 800-400 meters
Please list all the times she has had her doors blown off in last 400-800? We keep saying that but its not a thing with her. And she held firm at the olympics and trials on last lap.

this is only one race but I do recall the 3000 at BU in 2023

Watch Valby get her "doors blown off" in the olympic trials against serious veteran competition just a few months out of college? Boy she really got tailed off there in the last 400.
while the 3000 is not her best event, she did get dropped by Courtney-Bryant and Cranny by a lot in the last 1000 of the NB Indoor Grand Prix 3000 early this year....you did ask for examples

Sorry. By examples i meant this long pattern you refer to? I would say if the bar is 1 or 2 or even 10 races then everyone gets their doors blown off. She just doesn't have a history of it or a pattern. Kelati and Schweitzer are killers with veteran savvy. She was right there.
Mind you im not saying she has a killer kick. I think the likes of Chebet, Sifan, and Tsegay seem to have fresh 200 speed at the end of every 5000 and 10000 (which no US athlete can deal with for now), which may be another conversation.

Well imho she does not have that many races post NCAA to establish any sort of pattern one way or the other. She certainly held her own at the US Trials last year though.
