I'd prefer to just watch athletes jump higher/run faster/throw farther for my time and money. I really don't care about their sexual preferences, civil behavior issues or their social media scandals. Just run fast, jump high and throw far please.
Considering how our brain dead modern society loves drama and “tea”, the USA track and field sprinters would make for an unbelievable Love Island/Jersey Shore type of reality TV show where they’re all crammed into one house together and filmed 24/7
Fred Kerley was still prancing around in the Diamond League after being arrested TWICE for beating women. Stop that "if the roles were reversed" nonsense, there're countless exemples across all sports/industries that nothing happens
I believe “just” once was it for beating women- in Miami with Alaysha prior to GST. The other arrest was for an altercation with a police officer. But your example stands as a great example- sponsors dropped him immediately and he was not allowed to run in GST any further (including in Miami). So yes, I’ll stand by my original statement.
As it turned out, Kerley may have been better off financially being booted from GST.
She spent a year running at LSU, but can't form a coherent sentence or thought.
I heard a story about a coach who went to coach at LSU and a non-football coach asked about difference with the school/conference he left and LSU. He said that at his former university everyone could read.
You both presumably graduated from college and write incredibly poorly, like most who post here.
Imagine the reaction if Coleman had shoved HER into a concrete pillar...
Nah, not the same at all. There is no gender symmetry in domestic violence & there never will be. Violent crime is a male thing is vast majority of cases.
Firstly, over 96% of reported incidents of domestic violence are against women. Responses to domestic violence are also very different; research shows female victims are much more scared of their partners and 'live in fear' of them, compared to male victims. And, of course, physical injury is much higher in female victims.
So not comparable. And that is not to belittle Coleman's experience. But let's not twist this into a gender thing coz it IS worse for women.
I know this was posted in jest, but... is this a SafeSport situation? If so is SafeSport a serious organization, or do they just pick and chose what cases they investigate?
There is simply no way she came up with that herself. I mean at least the people writing these things for these athletes could make it seem somewhat plausible/believable that it came from the athlete.
Wouldn't a PR agency have drafted something more coherent?
She could give 2 sh^ts about her fans, her teammates, her shoe sponsor, her boyfriend, her girlfriend, etc... She's an ABSOLUTE TRAINWRECK!!! Nike must be saying WTF did we get into. I said it a couple years ago that she is a marketing nightmare. She's not literate, she's arrogant, and she's the LAST person/athlete to build a brand around. USA Track and Field can't build any marketing campaign around her and can't use her to promote the sport (when we need it!). We all should be excited to watch her dominate the 100/200, and celebrate her success. All we get now is a loud mouth arrogant spoiled sprinter physically assaulting her boyfriend on TMZ.
I wish USA track and field would adopt an Athlete Conduct Policy:
The USATF Personal Conduct Policy outlines expected behavior for all individuals associated with USATF, including athletes, coaches, and any associated personnel, including agents, managers, and shoe company representatives. It emphasizes that conduct detrimental to the integrity and public confidence of USATF will not be tolerated. The policy covers a range of actions, including but not limited to violence, illegal activities (including failed drug tests and whereabouts unknown), and behavior that undermines United States Track and Field and it's members' reputation.
Consequences could include suspension, financial penalty, and or permanent termination from USATF. Competing for Team USA is a PRIVILEDGE, not a right.

Your racism is not well concealed despite your denials.
T&F should have a zero tolerance for domestic abuse.
Everyone should have zero tolerance for domestic abuse.
How this abusive woman still has a Nike deal and is invited to meets is such a BS double standard. Her only statement should be in front of a judge before she spends a little time in jail.
On a serious note, we ("we" because I think I speak for every other reasonable person) don't really want her to "be more." We actually want her to tone it down quite a bit. An Instagram apology (and one, in my opinion, that ultimately comes across as somewhat self-centered) doesn't immediately compensate for her multiple public meltdowns/general maliciousness across the years. But this is a good first step. At least she's not doubling down on paper, even if she actually wants to.
Actions speak louder than words, so in my opinion, it'll take a few years of generally good behavior for me to believe she's changed for the better.
