It’s a 180 on this site- when you want to trash a woman runner for - idk for what exactly- then being realistic and respectful of an Olympian who is still living the life most of us could only dream is considered the thread-derailing troll behavior. The mean-spirited posts are the norm. Those darn white knights are messing up our good time!
The Colleen is washed threads get old. She shows up and shows progression, and people still complain.
I’ve followed her since her college days. She’s incredibly talented but has dealt with recuring hip injuries and a lot of bad luck. Before judging her “lack of talent,” take a look at her results and injury history. She’s also one of the few athletes who genuinely takes time with fans, both young and old.
Yea I couldn't agree more. Everyone is a failure unless you won the olympics or have a WR. I would cut off one toe to be on an Olympic team.
Hell, people have been calling Hocker a failure since the month after he won Olympic gold.
I was just about to post this, but I will correct you: they were bashing Hocker right after the race, saying he only won because of "this" or "that" reason. If you get a WR you are doped, no question. So no one is safe. Hey, at least this place is consistent.
I am not a white knight or a fanboi of CQ, but it appears to me like her appearance in the race drummed up a lot of attention for her new team. That was probably the intention. If she didn't race, her presence probably wouldn't have been as strong. Would we have a thread about her if she had just done the lake run? What lake was it, anyway? I lived in Raleigh a looooong time ago.
Interesting that Infeld, 35, wins a national title this year after also having an injury-filled career.
Excellent point.
Colleen has enough talent to show up at some meet and run a decent mile, but she hasn’t taken the sport seriously for several years other than as a venue for shilling stuff. You can’t train with Katie Camarena (no offense to KC) and start some team with an GoFundMe and claim you want to compete at a high level. Probably why she’s leaving Flagstaff. Flagstaff is a serious place for serious runners
