It would be nice to have Hocker and Jakob both doubling - comparing the combined results of both races for both athletes would be something we never got to do with the likes of El G and Lagat or any other olympic or world champions.

On the flip side Cooper specifically said in his post race interview something like I'm in a good position if someone scratches. How awkward will that practice be near the declaration deadline for worlds when Cooper drops a subtle comment: "Wouldn't it be so cool if we were teammates at worlds and were able to both be on Team USA? Man that would be swell"

Maybe Cole could do Coop a solid and win the DL final in the 5000m (but that's obviously not going to happen).

I’m rolling laughing. Because either Hocker was automatically like “I got you bro” right after or before the race. Or it’s just straight awkward vibes right now. And I can’t lie I’d be impressed if Hocker got top 6, even too 10 wouldn’t be too bad. No chance of medaling unless it’s a jog fest. I still don’t think he’s a real threat in the 5000m yet until maybe another year or two, but crazy to think he has a chance at Gold in a 5k jogfest.
