CONFIRMED - Brosnan committed multiple NCAA violations at UCLA

I don’t believe their intentions appear to be to get to Oregon by way of UCLA.

I don’t think anyone has actually read this entire report. It clearly states that both Brosnan and the parents had previous relationships before UCLA, and there was no real evidence of tampering. The NCAA is basically saying he can’t even talk to pre-existing friends if their kids play or run at another NCAA college. The report even admits that tampering is usually straightforward, “but this case involved unique circumstances”. They admit Brosnan didn’t actually tamper, but the calls he made to friends are being called tampering( technically ) just because those friends have children at other universities. This is honestly the most absurd thing I’ve ever seen. If Brosnan gets a good lawyer, he’s definitely going to win big $$$$$$$.

Sorry but the report is EXTREMELY damning if you actually read it. Of course Brosnan and the parents are just saying everything they can to allow their daughters to remain eligible, so what they say definitely isn't an accurate representation of the facts.

"Prospect 1 entered the transfer portal on December 12, 2022, and prospect 2 entered on January 2, 2023. Two of Brosnan’s 11 phone calls with prospect 1’s father occurred at 10:25 p.m. and 11:07 p.m. on December 11, 2022, the night before prospect 1 entered the portal. Prospect 1’s father initiated both calls. Brosnan then initiated a phone call to prospect 1’s father the following day. The call concluded 13 minutes before prospect 1 entered the portal. Prospect 1’s father then called Brosnan three minutes after prospect 1 entered the portal."

Doesn’t appear their intentions were to get home by way of Oregon.

The NCAA will lose this lawsuit if they bring it. The big issue is no scholarship money was given to the athletes at UCLA so this was clearly not driven by money.

They gave up scholarship money to basically be a walk on? Hmmmm. This is getting good. Investigators knew former coaches? Track conspiracy!!!! Finally this sport getting interesting.

You’re right. That wouldn’t have been against the rules. You may not like it, but the rules are the rules. Disagreeing with them doesn’t justify breaking them.

This case seems so ridiculous considering colleges are paying offshore dark money to buy players they're selling on the web. Basically, smuggling runners masked as sports agencies. This is a phone call. SMH.

This is absolutely insane. They issued a violation not for actually breaking any rules, but apparently just because you can’t be friends with someone who has kids and runs track at another college if you’re a coach. I’m no lawyer, but it feels like the NCAA is seriously crossing some major legal boundaries here.

30 page report. NCAA glances over their acquittances with a coach and their investigator. This is a 3rd world investigation. It's actually rather humorous reading. Feels they had to ding him with a level 2 violation to make the hyenas happy.

Agreed. It even says that in November 2022 Brosnan approached his compliance officer about them transferring, even though they weren’t in the portal. Said the father was talking to Brosnan’s wife about it!

It’s your job to know the rules. He even had another infraction listed in there about talking to a rising junior before the permissible date.
