Fresh off the Olympic gold and record, with a 7:22 and 3:47 mile in 2025, and over two months to go until World's, Cole Hocker is doing just fine, thank you very much.
The kinds of times being put up these days, disgusts me. MLB admitted their mistake when they juiced the ball to get more production---and decided to err towards caution and deference for the greats of yore. Will track do the same? These guys walking around like kings as if they actually produced these times on their own. Even the high schoolers display this same sort of bravura. Super shoes are the worst thing that could have ever happened to our sport---while those who came before are silent witness to their systematic removal from history---and their good works. Henry Rono could have never dreamed of a time when men would run 3:47 and 7:22. Cole Hocker? Add about 30 seconds to his 3k time and 10 seconds to his mile. That's about how good those guys are.
