Rojo, I just read the article and here are my hot takes:
* Athing's comments seemed rehearsed, in a "say the right thing to the press" way. * The entire piece read like an attempt at a PR reset after last year's disaster. They blew the biggest year in the sport. * Kersee sounds exasperated. This has been a tough assignment and he doesn't have all the answers despite decades of experience. * I think Athing won't ever return to her '21/'23 level.
Jon Gault appears to have a direct line to Bobby (kudos, journalistically), so I guess you guys can't rock the boat too much and have to stay positive.
I'm going for worst poster of the month, so downvote away. :-)

If there are concerns about tripping, contact, jostling and running in a pack and so on, the 400m would be ideal as well seeing as it's entirely run in lanes. If it was me that's where I'd start out and I feel it would relieve some pressure too as it's not her main event. I found the 1500m race exceptionally odd as no one was at her level and it seemed a very unusual choice to put it mildly.
I hope she runs well and has a good re-introduction to track running at this level.
Is Mu contractually obligated to be coached by Kersee? If not, she needs to find a new coach.
She wanted to live in Los Angeles and is signed by Nike, so yes that was her only contractual option.
Kersee’s crew of chemists have perfected their latest secret sauce. In order to be dramatic, they had Mu pretend to flounder for a year, to build up the interest for her to come out flying back to the top. 😝
Same talent level. Same distribution of efforts at racing non-prime distances. Same expectation levels from observers but not from themselves. Jakob relishes hyping even insane outside expectations and has stated his goal to be the GOAT. Mu evades even for individual races. Jakob not only handles pressure he augments it and still thrives. He has extreme mental toughness.
We know why....Gjerts sociopathic parent-coaching vs Athings normal supportive family environment. I see however that unlike his sibilings who crumbled psychically even young JIngy coped with this.... because he actually believed Gjerts brutality would deliver his own goal.
So. Totally different mentality. And results. But she could learn from JIngy.
