This thread was started before the press release came out. It had the title of, "says they will finally announce their first competitions and athletes on May 21."
Couldnt a clean superstar just attend and potentially take the win and prize money giving the middelfinger to the doped nobodies? That also would be fun imo - of course we assume that would be a real clean athlete...
It surprises me a bit that swimmers are, so far, at the forefront of this. I think of swimming as a much cleaner sport than track, cycling and other pure speed/endurance sports. There just haven't been nearly as many doping scandals and positives as athletics. China's world record distance swimmer Sun Yang is the only major bust that comes to mind (never tested positive but practically assaulted the testers).
Probably swimmers have more to gain from the prize money here. No big shoe contracts to risk. I think swimsuit and goggle sponsor deals are pretty limited, and other mainstream sponsorships wont be available unless you're winning 3 or more gold medals at an Olympics. An Olympic 5th placer from a small country like Greece probably isn't making much money at all last year and that has probably all evaporated now that we are 4 years away from the next Olympics.

The event is as sleazy as it gets, and the sponsor probably has veto rights to prevent it’s athletes from competing.
It would be interesting to see if a 10.1 guy or a 3:57 guy can get very close to world records with PEDs.
Lol the assumption that there are clean 10.1 guys just hanging around.
10.1 is insanely fast, cleanly. Any such guy would have to be in peak form, which is very hard to do when clean, and can be maintained for only a brief time.
But most any 10.1-clean-capable guy could go near 9.6 fully loaded, problem is they’re few and far between.
Women especially, but men also, enjoy a 0.50 benefit under current programs, which take 1-2 (often 2) years to manifest fully. Some women have even greater gains. What would be interesting would be to see how quickly such gains could be achieved unrestricted.
For the women, is it 10.49 they’re aiming for? That’s a tall order, but not impossible. Will they normalize times for zero wind and altitude? How about men? Gatlin has a 9.4x wind-aided, “enhanced by fans”.
How about running down a slope?
It all reminds me of that bodybuilder who said that he just wanted to look huge in his coffin.
● Enhanced Games ● The doping-encouraged Enhanced Games filed suit against World Aquatics, USA Swimming and the World Anti-Doping Agency in a U.S. Federal Court in New York, asking for injunctive relief and $200 million in actual damages:
“The lawsuit responds to defendants’ blatantly predatory and illegal campaign to force anyone involved in the sport, including athletes, support staff and officials, to boycott the Enhanced Games and to stop the Enhanced Games from entering the market for international elite swimming.”
The Enhanced Games event, slated for May 2026 in Las Vegas, has been criticized by the International Federations for all three sports it proposes to offer: athletics, swimming and weightlifting. World Aquatics has passed a rule, declaring any participants in events which do not follow the World Anti-Doping Code to be ineligible.
Enhanced Games promoter Aron D’Souza (AUS) told The Associated Press that, essentially, the fierce opposition of sports governing bodies is working: “[U]ntil this issue is resolved, it’s causing irreparable harm to our ability to sign athletes.” Only five have signed up so far.
Most top athletes are enhanced already. The few that join the dope games will probably not break any records. Then people will say, well I guess the dope doesn't really make much difference.

Most of them are doping now...It would make more sense to have "Natural Games".
Hey dummy the current games are all tested and therefore "natural". How would these "natural games" be tested? Just like they are now? People would evade positives just like they do now.
The whole thing has a very "cheer for the gladiators as they kill each other!!!" vibe to it.
I understand that football and boxing can leave people scarred for life and shorten their lifespans, but paying men to grow breasts and women to become Marita Koch seems like a whole new level of depravity.
