Seems like at this point the only thing separating Hartman from DL/PK/LHL is the final 400m. Grace closed in 70 tonight. The others can crush it in 64-66. Henes can help her close the gap, but four weeks is a big ask.

If she can run 4:06/4:24ish she has the ability to close faster. Not many have the 1500/mile through 10k range that Grace has.

If Hartman skips the 10k and DL/PK/LHL run the steeplechase, I could see Hartman winning the 5k.

I agree and when that ability develops a bit more, she'll show it and start winning big things on the natl stage. She delivered a swift 67 sec final 400m at Va Beach, but the big 3 were still 3-4 sec quicker in the end.

Why does she need to skip the 10? She can win both.

She would need a 31:00 or close to that to win the 10k. Then 2 days later to try to win and beat 4 (don't forget Hilda ran 14:52) other sub15:00 5k runners is too much to ask. Her best chance is in the 10k and hope for a podium finish in the 5k.
