PS. We didn't put this in the article, but for the record, when Kyle called Jonathan back, he started the interview by squashing the doping rumors.
"That could not be further from the truth relative to doping. That’s not true at all, so not quite sure where that came from."
Then he said this later:
"You have my word, nothing even remotely close [to doping]."
I think it's mostly Boomers on facebook. However, most young people 18 - 30 ish (I know), use Instagram. Hence, the horrific "OMG guys, let me tell you something" type content
Facebook, IG, TikTok, everything online really, tracks you and collects data. You can "Ask app not to track", you can "Reject all but necessary cookies", you can use Duck Duck Go or Private mode all you want, but there are a million ways around these "protections" and these companies know them and use them to see everything you do on and, more importantly off, their apps.
That being said, IG (Meta) is trying to increase the time you spend on and looking at their app so they're feeding you content you regularly consume and spend more time looking at/engaging with... It's not that everyone's left IG, it's you and what you want to see...
Guess you’ll have to find another way to satisfy your unhealthy fixation. Maybe try talking to an actual girl you might have a shot at a relationship with.
100% support it. Social media is over. Insta, tik tok, etc. are all full of thirst trap accounts that are peddling only fans or other explicit paid content. It has become a cesspool that is barely useable by normal people. And that doesn't even get into all the random a-holes who are always posting horrible, negative stuff on pro athletes' social media. My son is moving up the ranks of junior golf and has played some rounds with nationally ranked players. One kid's dad told me that he has to spend about 10 hours a week blocking people, deleting comments, etc. because there is an onslaught of idiots telling a 14 year old golfer he sucks and choked at the last tournament, etc. But he has been told that he needs a social media page to attract college recruiters as many top schools will pick golfers they want to recruit by the time kids are sophomores (which is dumb because a lot of kids blossom when they get into their junior and senior years and catch up physically with early bloomers).
Everyone knew that the transition to being a pro would be tough for Valby given her history of injuries and the accommodations she had to make in her training. The best thing she can do to manage that transition is to just do what she needs to do to stay healthy and maximize her training and ignore what everyone has to say about it.
I think she probably has some mental health issues, and I’m by no means a hater.
Wow. Deletes Facebook=mental health issues. Yall need to log off. This means the opposite. A person who cares deeply for their mental health is not on instagram.
No doubt a big consideration in her contract was her almost 200k followers and social media presence. I wonder how her sponsor feels about it? I would be interested to see what the contract says.
Like it or not, training hard and running fast with no social media presence isn't how this game works anymore...

Also- an athlete of her caliber should just have a social media manager run it. Plenty of athletes/groups/agents provide that service to athletes of way less popularity.
It's a win-win- sponsor is happy with the carefully curated social media presence and she doesn't have to directly deal with any of the filth. This is a professional sport.....
Not sure what is going on in this situation but deleting social media would be considered a breach of contract. Honestly I think she got a taste of what it’s like to train as a professional athlete and decided it wasn’t for her. At least at this point in her life. maybe all the negotiations and pressure got to her as well.
