Ivy this is a good thing. Running raises is this about fun and it sure looks like they are having fun. I'd rather have fun and finish last then win erase and be miserable.
It’s a good thing that they’re having fun. It just seems like a strange way to be having it. But whatever, to each their own. I’m sure Colleen would probably rather be racing and vying for the win. It sucks to be plagued by injuries.

Emily Infeld has been plagued by injuries, has even had surgery, is older and is still competing at a high level and just nabbed a PR.
Rabbitting is probably the best career choice for CQ at this point. Gets to be out front and the enter of attention without being held too accountable for results.
I'm very interested that she's gone off the grid now. How is she getting the internet, and how many solar panels is she using? Details on this are much appreciated. Thanks.
You are talking about this 32 year old adult pro athlete as if she is some kid in the special Olympics. If a man her age behaved in this exact same way, this board would rightfully call him out for being a lazy bum (look at the many threads about Spencer Brown for proof).
Men don't get to "not take things seriously" because if we don't our families will starve and not have roof over their head. Must be nice to go through life and not have that pressure.
This comparison is totally off-base. People might call Spencer Brown out for being a lazy bum, but that's because he's *not* making money from his pursuit.
Quigley, on the other hand, is making hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. You might not like what she does, or think she deserves to be so well-paid for it. But inventing some sort of artificial beef that you're worried her family will starve is an impressive feat of mental gymnastics.
Anyone else feel like we have ben down this road before once (or 7 times)?
She races early?
everyone says she looked great
she talks of a comeback and how she has new motivation
people will talk about how talent never goes away (but it does get old) and start predicting how she will make the team for a major championship
She will enter a few races and the DNS
then she falls off the face of the earth and this board fills with people wondering if she is hurt and exactly what happened
She is already past her prime. Took too much time off. In the meantime, the women's track has only gotten faster. Even if she got back to her peak shape, it's too slow now.

I’m very impressed with Emily Infeld’s result. Given her history and age, I think she had by far the most impressive performance of the women last night. Jess McClain too.

You think Colleen Quigley is making hundreds of thousands per year? LOL. Completely wrong. She is making at most $70k a year.
Jakob, the biggest star in our sport doesn't even make $4 million a year.
You are delusional if you think a 30+ year old former elite runner with only 240k Instagram follower (who are mostly bots, look at the engagement on the pages - there is none).
Let's be real here - if she was making hundreds of thousands off sponsorships she would NOT be pacing a 10k in a rabbit outfit.
She paced the 10k, in an attention grabbing way, because this is what she has going on right now.
If you want to see marketing done right look at Alica Schmidt. Hot & 6 million followers.
I don't know CQ, I do know she was a talented athlete with BTC who had injury issues and then embarked on a triathlon career that didn't fare well. She seems to be a personable and positive person. That being said, it also seems she's either been "rejuvenated" with her running career and is setting her sights on 2028 in L.A., or she's not too sure what lies ahead of her and is trying to get back into the sport with a new bubbly-positive outlook. I'm kind of leaning toward that she and her team (sponsors/friends/family/coach) are realizing that the clock is ticking at age 32, and the women aren't getting slower, and if she could put together a "good" 3 years of racing and stay somewhat relevant, combined with her good looks, that she could cash in on the L.A. 2028 Olympics. If she could steal a spot on the team (doubtful) or at least be in the conversation she can take advantage of endorsement/sponsorship deals.
Disappointing. I was expecting some solar panels on a tiny house, a rain collector, sustainable garden, and a DIY septic system. I thought she was gonna give us a tour and explain how she built everything.
