ive definitely turned into that annoying guy. 11.99 no big deal, but I think ESPN has played such a huge role in destroying sports with the ridiculous amount of money that goes into programming rights.
I think people not willing to spend 11 dollars is ruining our sport more
nah. the fact that they moved off ESPN or ESPN 2 and pushed it onto streaming means it was already ruined. once it goes behind a paywall, they're just sucking money from the people who are already invested in it.
and this has to said - the womens relays indoors are an absolute disaster. They put only 4 teams per seeded final to avoid messes out there and every heat had some fall/botch/drama. Unbelievable - it can’t be this hard can it?
I agree. The sprint races are silly too. There should be a rule where athletes on teams in the top 5 should have to race head to head instead of what their seed is.

women's vs men's relay skills have always perplexed me as a coach. It should be easier for the women, because they are moving slower, but they just don't seem to have the same level of timing and spatial awareness that many men have. In my years coaching relays, I find that something like 1/4 men have trouble figuring out handoffs vs 3/4 women.
Yeahhh Ceili! I was nervous for the field leaving it a kick but McCabe is the only one who could probably hold off Lemnegole in the final 100m, so thought she could do it when she held the lead at 200m
Great to see, she's always in the mix and has been forever, is this her first title?
McCabe has won a few Canadian Natl Champs events. Competing for WVU, she landed on the podium at 2021 NCAA XC Nats and (in the 3000SC) at 2022 & 2023 Outdoor Champs. Today's win is her first NCAA Natl title.

Obviously you have never watched any of the US men's 4x100 teams.
Now I want to know Bella whitaker’s 800m potential lol.
You already know how fast she can run an 800 because she just ran 2:02.68 which wasn't fast enough for her to qualify for these NCAA championships.
Why is it that every time someone runs a fast 400 some people want them to move to the 800? Sydney, Femke, Britton Wilson, etc. now Bella Whittaker. Just because someone is great at the 400 doesn't mean that they will be great at the 800.
Ducks up 24 points with 2 events left. Does Ayyildiz start the 3000?
WHERE'S ALL THE OREGON HATERS AT?!
Easy W today.
And Jerry haters.
Or are they going to say that jerry is a 0 WAR coach and that your average college coach could win an NCAA title at Oregon. Actually, the more I think about it, that might be true but that doesn't mean I think he's average.
Having a NCAA championship that basically lasts 2:40 over two days insanely trash.
The seperate men's and women's at a 2 day meet is stupid. Especially with the way it prevents doubles. Really liked having the womens day one occur in the morning on the west coast Friday as well great for ratings
They need to bring back the one day single final. Much better spectator experience.
One of the reasons why they like ot have the separate male/female meets on day 1 is simply for warmups. If you have 32 hurdlers trying to warmup, it's a lot. If you have 16, much more doable.

the USA women aren't good either. what you'll notice if you pay attention, is that all of the teams have poor timing, so you can still win with slow handoffs.
There is way less margin for error with men's, and because of the unique situation of them all having different coaches, along with poor USA Leadership, most of them don't make themselves available for the coaching they need. And then there are the guys like Kerley who probably just don't have the aptitude for it. At least without VERY intensive coaching.

he looked really uncomfortable out there. he got bumped and went almost to the back of the pack and could never recover. he's gotta be kicking himself. No Strand, no Martin, a 3:53 winning time which he can run in his sleep and he finishes 8th.
