The real story in that race was the lead leg, where the Dutch man took the team home in first. Historically the Dutch relay has had two stud females (Femke and Klaver) but the man struggle. It's a big deal that they now have a male runner who is at least solid, and maybe very good.
As for the final leg, that was humdrum. There was never a doubt that Femke would cruise past that level of competition. I doubt that her split was very fast. I mean, fine, all she can do is do what she did, which is win the race, but there wasn't any real drama or heroics.
A meaningless gold. Let me know when Femke gets one while racing Sydney. You are really grasping at straws if you think Femke will beat Sydney in any race.
SML breaks records and puts on a show. Femke races against JV teams and y'all go crazy over it. When's the last time Sydney lost to her? I'll be waiting for your answer.
You are partly correct. Mclaughlin wins and breaks records but she doesn't put on a show. She rarely races and doesn't seem to love it. Bol is the dream runner because she loves racing. She always shows up. She is very happy when she wins and she is disappointed when she loses but she is a good sport. And being the underdog is what makes people live her. Every sports' movie is about an underdog.

"Why does a gorgeous charismatic woman who races frequently and loves the sport have so many fans? It's so WEIRD man."
You are to Femke what TMADDD is to Parker Valby.
I like both athletes but both of you and your over-the-top gushing is too much. It’s beyond being a fan. It’s sorta creepy and you both give off John Hinckley vibes.
I’m also a Femke fan and hope she runs an 800 this year.
What’s weird is that there are so many humorless misogynistic and gender confused nut jobs on LRC.

Comparing someone to John Hinckley is slanderous and offensive. Stalking someone online is creepy. Living in NYC has made your worldview cynical and angry.
Losing has nothing to do with love for competition. You are confused. She races constantly. She shows up for 4x4 and mixed 4x4 at world competitions. That is why people love her.

Hinckley wasn't a stone bigot, was he?

1st, not "every" sports movie is about underdog unless you have watched ALL sports movies. 2nd, most movies about underdogs FINALLY win but Bol hasn't win over Sydney even once.
Your fixation with Sydney is really strange. There are literally other athletes who don't run indoors, but is she the problem ? Plus she doesn't have to participate in NBIGP and if NB keeps paying her millions it's because they don't have a problem with it.
This comparison with Femke has to stop, because we all saw what happened in Paris. These two aren't on the same level - it's fine to win indoors, but when you can't even come up with something decent in an Olympic final or every time you face your opp it's pointless. Sydney always refers to Dalilah as her best rival and never mentions anyone else.
Syd also tries her hand at other events, but why hasn't Femke tried her hand against Paulino Nasser Nickisha in the 400m or Gabby in the 200m if she's so talented ? Nobody wants to talk about it (I'm guessing it's because this site turns a blind eye to it) but Femke only wins against nobodies and never gets out of her comfort zone (where she's not even the best, by the way). When she loses to Sydney again, this site will prefer to criticize Sydney instead of being honest about Femke. This year it's the perfect year for her to try something in the 400 maybe event the 800m
Totally agree.
Nobody on this board calls out Bol hiding from facing Paulino or Sydney (2 best athletes in 400m and 400mh) in GST is beyond ridiculous and really shows how letsrun is a super biased site which makes it worthless.
And of course I'm totally with Sydney that Dalilah is/was her ONE and ONLY rival on the hurdles. Anyone else doesn't even come close to her (since she turned pro) let alone being the rival.
