We talked about this on the podcast. 1) Yes Cheptegei will go with it.
Jake Barraclough through 5k in 15:32 chip time
whats the estimated finishing time based on that?
Tucked in with the lead women's group.
Lead group through 10k in 28:54, slight slowdown but still going fast. Interested to see how they handle the fast opening in the second half
Cheptegei looks heavy.

In 94th (???)
This race is so deep and it starts so fast!!!
15:32 is only 47 seconds off his 5km PB
Cheptegei v Ota: Who wins? Ota running for his deceased teammate. Love his fearless tribute.
Fun fact:
Number of US runners that have run sub 2:06:30 in the last 15 years.
1, Galen Rupp
Number of Aoyama Gakuin University runners that have run sub 2:06:30 in the last month.
2, Hiroki Wakabayashi (22), Asahi Kuroda (20)
(and there's a third guy, Aoi Oota, running with the leaders today)
Let\'s see how this plays out wrote:

65 guys (sub 30)
Wait, I was wrong. Nevermind.
In the 2nd group Dawit Wolde already running his 2nd marathon of the year; won Xiamen in early Jan. - 2:06
Jake 10k 31.20, c. 2.12 pace.

The quality of some of the guys opting for the 2nd group (still on 2:03:45 pace at 10k) makes for an interesting race dynamic.
Leaders 14:24 and 28:54 (2:01:56 pace) at 5k & 10k , Cheptegei at 14::41 and 29:23 (2:03:59 pace) .
At 10k, lead pack has 12. 2nd pack has 15 more.
I think Jake mentioned starting out slow, so maybe he is aiming to pick people off later?
Cheptegei's patience may pay off later in the race.
