The coaches at UCLA and Cal couldn’t be much worse. “You get what you pay for”
Coach Hayes is showing to be a disaster of a pick for UCLA. They are pathetic in everything from cross country to sprints in track. Cal has had the same hire for a while now. They just don’t care.
Joanna Hayes couldn’t do any worse. UCLA right now has one runner in the top 16 and no one else making in the NCAA Championships for them men. Unless some scratches happen in the 400m they might have two. The women will only get a 60H and 4x400m in. This should be unacceptable results for UCLA. And let’s not forget Hayes is the head cross county coach and has made a joke of the distance team in one year. She ran only two men at XC regionals. She probably doesn’t know you run seven and score five in cross country. How clueless is this women ? These overall results have to be the absolute worst ever seen from a school with the talent and history of UCLA.
Those are Asian universities, and Asian kids don't run track. The state of California has gone from 80% White in 1970 to 20% now (due to illegal immigration and the 1965 Immigration/National Betrayal Act).
The "woke" and "DEI" arguments are laughable. I'd say it is due to priorities and funding.
Cal focuses on different sports - too busy winning mountains of Olympic medals in sports like swimming and rowing. For ex, there were 59 Cal Olympians at Paris olympics who won 23 medals:
And if Cal has no manly macho fellas (like some posters clearly spend a ton of time fantasizing/obsessing over), then how is Cal rugby (the manliest of sports) historically the strongest collegiate rugby program in the country?
USC is racist and admits Mongol HAPAs as Whites to keep the campus looking as White as possible when UCLA only 12 miles away admits 75% Asians due to merit. Mongol HAPAs are Russians, Poles, Iranians, etc. fathered by the Mongol Hordes 1200-1600. Stanford is more racist then USC. UCSD, UCI, UC Davis and Cal is the same as UCLA.
An athlete of mine went to Cal for a recruiting visit. They reported to me that there was a heavy drinking and party scene amongst the Bears distance squad. On a Sunday run, ALL of the athletes that they ran with were hungover and one claimed to have consumed an edible prior to that run.
Needless to say, they struck Cal off of their short list. I was also disappointed to hear that a local state podium placer from the previous season was part of the drunk squad and looked to be significantly less fit than just six months earlier. It sounds like a terribly undisciplined culture in Berkeley.

At both of these places they have bad culture and poor management. These Universities are a complete awful place to run fast. I guess the proof is in the pudding at Cal and UCLA. It’s sad but sadly true.

Coaching is bad. Being a distance fan makes me throw up just thinking about it. The CAL coach is one of the worst coaches in the business. These schools must not care to be good anymore.

The State of California has the most open college admission system in the world. You can enroll in any of the 116 California Community Colleges with or without a HS Diploma or GED. If you get a "C" average and complete the California State University General Education Requirements you have earned a automatic entry into a California State University. If you get a "B" average completing the University of California General Education Requirements you have earned an automatic entry into a University of California. There are currently 3,000,000 students enrolled in the California Community Colleges. It's all up to you!
Ucla ad is a joke. Bureaucratic cesspool of low-achieving guaranteed salary collecting pension cruisers. Odd environment esp for athletes. Testblind, social justice agenda for admissions, gone too far woke.
Cal is majority L.A. preps but the UC Regents power are in the Bay Area. L.A. Mayor Karen Bass wants a homeless shelter at the old Sears building in Boyle Heights while the Mexicans want a US DoE National Physics Laboratory for Beyond Einstein Modern Physics to compete with the Japanese and a Magnate STEM High School. The Mexicans want Cal St LA elevated to UC East LA. The Blacks want Cal St Dominguez elevated to UC Compton. The Asians want Cal Poly Pomona elevated to UC Pomona. While want all 4 plus San Jose St elevated to UC San Jose.
