Does his split time of 3:33.35 count as an in/out NCAA record?

In general, splits do not count as records.

Most likely will be an official 'en route' time. I believe they had 1500/1600/mile set up for the hs races/records.
Sadie Engelhardt now has both hs outdoor and indoor mile records. Only Wiley's outdoor 1600 and some 1500 conversions ahead on the all crazy list.

Probably the biggest self-own thread I’ve seen in my 23 years on Letsrun. The chodes up thread are truly going home devastated.
That puts him at NCAA #2 all-time. I never saw that coming!

Bigger question is how Wynne or the other 3:55 performer today were invited when they are washed.
Not a good question actually. Ciattei and Wynne were 4th and 6th at the Olympic Trials in 3:31/3:32 PRs respectively, so it’s one thing to say after the fact that they didn’t belong today, but completely understandable why they were invited.
Martin > Stroud?
Leo will win the AAC 1, 500 🤠
Running a lot of the race in lane 2, no less! Incredible run.

Fair question with the field that is assembled.
As Gary Martin is now ranked 8th on the all-time world indoor mile list, this will no longer be a valid question.

Very happy for him as he seems like a good kid. A great race!
