I know shes not at the same insane fitness level this year that she was last year but Im a little surprised by any list that excludes Leachman from the top 10. the interesting thing about her not being at the same fitness level as last year is that she now goes out pretty conservatively (for her) for fear of blowing up early so the prospect of her overdoing it again in this race is a lot less likely I think. but shes still strong enough to hang with a front pack for at least most of the race. so part of me thinks its going to come down to her and Hedengren. I just dont know for sure if she has enough fitness to pull that off. Im hoping she surprises us...
theres just so many REALLY impressive wild cards this year. Garces, Ferebee, Sirois, Beshears, Huyler and others who were not on the radar for most people at the beginning of the season but have proven how good they are with their performances this year, dominating their respective competition. can one of them shock the world? we'll see. they may all be running for second place if Hedengren runs like she did a couple weeks ago.
