Not quite a Turkey Trot, but it was beat Emily Sisson at Foot Locker open race on the same weekend as Thanksgiving (when she was in middle school).

if we're talking a low-level actual turkey trot (as opposed to some that are actually highly competitive w/prize money), then this year's chicago turkey 5k/8k trot featured ryan hill pacing his wife emily pritt in the 5k. i ran right behind them until the 5k turnaround--i was sad to see them turn because we were running the same pace (around 6-flat mile pace), and the rest of the 8k was pretty much a solo effort for me since i was far behind the leaders.

glad i didn't make any bets on fastest mile PR on the starting line....

Nice thumbs down for one of the greatest and most consistent American Mid D runners ever. 3 Olympic teams and 4th at another trial. Ran at Fenton, Coached in Wheaton so never surprised to see him at West 'burbs Turkey Trot. Still coaches at Latin is Chicago....walk through Lincoln Park by Cannon Blvd in the late afternoon and he's there in his red hat. Nice guy.

The best runner I have ever seen at a Turkey Trot is Doug Padilla back in the early 1980's.

Did she ever get her bronze from London? Nate fun fact. She and her husband Pablo Solares are the fastest 1500m couple in running history!

Didn’t see it myself, but my old coach insists that he outkicked Pattisue Plumer to win a local turkey trot around Stanford back in the late ‘80s.

Burbank YMCA Turkey Trot, which unfortunately isn't run anymore as of last year, William Leer would show up. He won the 10k in a little under half hour I think, basically a 5k loop twice, the last third mile or so was uphill. He ran for Pomona college, won the 1500 and 5000 on same day, I think he's the only one who did that for DIII.

Im looking up some stats here. He won D3 indoor mile in 4:09.
In Leer's senior year he finished 7th at cross country nationals with a time of 27:03 on a very slow and muddy course.

Leer placed 4th in 1500 meters at USATF Outdoor Championships 3:41.
Leer won two Indoor National Championships, winning both the 3000m and the mile.
