This is a good example of why running is not popular and will never be popular.
You have one of the best runners in the country, who has enough fans that are interested in his career that want to know his status and he has private social media.
Bro, it's 2024...realize that your social media influence will impact the amount of $$$ you will receive with your pro contract.
Hiding away and training does not do you any favors in 2024. Matt Choi and the other idiot influencers will make more money that this dude from running.
Think about that for a second.

Not defending Burns here, don’t know him and don’t love the persona he puts off, but he has said on multiple running podcasts that Jerry made him go private on strava and quiet down on social media. If you don’t know, better to not jump to conclusions.
I put essentially no stock into what people run as freshman, as they are adapting to a new environment and training program. He’s a track specialist so if he is not racing during indoors then I will start being concerned.
And it wont be long again before Jerrys regiment of 5 workouts/week (including 2 days of double T) cooks him again - all while running effect podcasts gasses him up about the newest batman film and high school fame. Dude needs to transfer somewhere that doesn't train 20 y/os like seasoned vets.

Burns was already training like a seasoned vet while in high school.
I remember listening to a podcast where he talks about being out with an Achilles injury that flared up as a freshman at Oregon. Could still have issues with that. Same for Simeon. He had multiple stress fractures in his hip area and was having issues getting healthy. This was all their freshman years and going into sophomore. Hopefully he's getting better and able to run soon.
they qualified for nationals, and four of their top seven are underclassmen. Seems like they're doing fine. Idk why y'all freak out when a tremendous high school runners need more than a year to adjust to collegiate training and everything that comes with college. Plenty of notable distance runners that needed more than a year or so

Examples like who? I’m not trying to counterpoint you, I’m actually just curious.
