Sir, I think you're exaggerating greatly about the gravity of this case although obviously it is grave if he did what is alleged.
I also disagree with your assessment about how he might be treated in prison if it came to that, which I don't think it will
Also, a North African Muslim in prison Amdouni would find solidarity with other Muslims in prison in France who are per capita the largest majority.
Going by your last paragraph those kinds of things don't happen anymore in this day and age. Those types of Netflix scenarios are no longer the reality whether in France or anywhere else for that matter. If he were really in danger he would be put into protective custody.
Anyway, the main point is I don't think Morhad A. will ever be convicted because that would be very difficult to prove.
Amdouni is not the most popular character in French Athletics, but heinous criminal - he probably is not. People were saying the same thing about the star steeple guy, Mekhissi Benabad, a few years ago. Great exaggerations and hyperbole.
They don't protect you from predatory inmates. He is a sitting duck and if you think he is not have you ever done time?
Highly unlikely Amdouni would get bullied in prison - which itself is unlikely.
1. It is common, in those environments, for Muslim males to assert their innate power over their wives. There is often tacit acceptance of this.
2. This means Amdouni would be no different to hundreds of other, inmates - husbands who have allegedly mistreated their wives.
3. Amdouni was an elite youth soccer player in Porto Vechio, Corsica, a French Mediterranean island, up until age 16. He's as tough as nails and knows how to take care of himself.
All the above is theoretical in any case, because probably, nothing will happen.
Not saying Amdouni is lilleywhite, but this case appears to be hyperbolic.

Let me tell you something. I am 42 years old. In my prime I was a 140 pound distance runner. I was also tough ran a 4:00 in the mile but if you had me square off with my 42 year old self I would have gotten the crap beat out of me. I am 200 pounds now. He would'nt last 30 seconds in a street fight with me and I would bet my house on it and I am not the toughest guy on the block. As a juvenile I did time on multiple occasions for fighting assault and mindless other things. There are juveniles 14 year olds that would end him in a fight. You think he is going to be one of the shot callers in a French Prison not a chance in H-E Double Hockey Sticks. He is a wife beater and he will be the lowest of the low in that place. Reagardless of his status he is going to do time, and he is going to be a victim. Runners are not tough guy. Weight and size matters big time. You almost sound like Morhad Amdouni trying to talk yourself up to convince yourself that the sitation you are about to enter is not going to be that bad......

Les peines pour violences conjugales varient selon le type et la gravité. La violence physique entraîne jusqu'à 3 ans de prison et 45 000 € d’amende pour une incapacité de travail (ITT) inférieure à 8 jours, et jusqu'à 10 ans...
In the link, in French, are the detailed of the different penalties faced by French citizens who are alleged to have committed violence against their wife.
There are so many different cases within the whole umbrella of this allegation that it's difficult to predict what will result with Amdouni, but please always remember that when the law is spelt out it always gives the worst case scenario for example - it will say the alleged attacker may face a prison sentence of three years in prison and 45,000 Euros in monetary fines etc. what usually happens though, when I read about such cases, is that the defendant, and in this case it will be Amdouni, usually is given the benefit of the doubt because of mitigating circumstances and they don't do any jail or prison time. Watch this space, if interested, in the coming months. Case goes on trial, end January, 2025.
Not sure what the result of all this will be for Amdouni in terms of athletic training and performance and racing but it is certainly a distraction and not positive for him.
Amdouni is no angel but we feel sorry for him in a way because he appears to have damaged his life to a certain extent and by proxy his athletic career.
Stop promoting sketchy people. Period. This is non-news. He's an alsoran as an athlete and a scummy person. Just stop. All these mid Euros just aren't interesting to anyone.

No we don't feel sorry for him if he gets what he deserves, but we feel sorry for his wife for sure.
According to this English running news site, his wife is accusing him of strangling and raping her. You really do defend the most immoral characters Ghost, especially if they are North African. The French are jailing North African men who wolf-whistle at women these days, so fair to say he is going down for a long time if found guilty of these crimes.
Morhad Amdouni, known for knocking over water bottles at the Tokyo Olympics, will be tried in court in February after allegedly attempting to strangle his wife

Donald Trump has been elected to another term in the White House. His time in national politics has been marked with a number of accusations of sexual misconduct.
The AIU should ban him for this. If you are running enough to be a 2:03 marathoner and are still agro enough to beat up your wife you clearly are on some anabolics.

Um, you're all over his jock. The only way you could be ignorant is willfully.
Yep, you're right he's (Amdouni) no angel, far from it, but let's not bury the guy before the court case elucidates the two sides to the claims by Amdouni's wife.
Wives often have a vested interest in exaggerating negative claims against husbands in court cases to gain benefits, financial, child custody, (Morhad has two young children) etc... so let's wait.
Below, a link showing Amdouni's training around his phenomenal 2:03:47 marathon in Spain in February 2024. Much of it in Iten, Kenya, altitude 2300m.
Much of his steady mileage around 4.20 per km, not particularly fast... but Amdouni has great base speed for a marathoner, 1:47/800 in 2009, as well as 3:34/1500, so his focus is hard track sessions, and steady distance runs. Dude's a monster. A pity it ended like this, if it ends....
I'd absolutely bet my life that this guy had more pins in him than a dartboard.
You should maybe explain this phrase to your American friends because they probably don't understand it or maybe you shouldn't because it's rather impolite.
I know that right now we're all focusing on Amdouni's bad points but perhaps we should also take into account his phenomenal athletics career.
It's interesting that in other sports, major professional sports like basketball, soccer and so on - world-class sports stars can get away with egregious behavior far worse or on an equal footing with what Amdouni has been alleged to have done and nobody bats an eyelid but for some reason track athletes and especially long distance runners are held to a higher order and that is not logical.
