Agreed. I'm not a Hocker fan but his victory was worlds preferable to all the insufferable articles and documentaries accompanying Kerr gold and his 5 year plan, or whatever it was.
It was awesome in terms of the “story” of the 1500 right now. People were treating the 1500 like it was Jakob vs. Josh and Cole and Yared splitting them up was great for the sport. I only wish Yared had an extra .02 of a second and he and Cole could’ve gone 1-2.
After all the back and forth between Josh and Jakob neither of them had an answer for Cole Hocker’s kick. It might be one of the most exciting 1500 championship races ever with one of the most satisfying conclusions
“It might be one of the most exciting 1500 championship races ever…”
That’s true, and the story for the 2024 1500m season, begins and ends right there. Sports are about the best vs the best on the biggest stage, and personalities are irrelevant.
It was an amazing day. Those two pricks got amazingly humbled.
If Ingebrigtsen was the sweet, wonderful person you seem to want him to be, you don’t think he would still been humbled after 3 guys passed him coming down the home stretch?
Without the two pricks, it probably would have been a 3:30 race. It did turn out to be the greatest Olympic 1500m final ever, and it wouldn’t have happened without Jakob.
Ingebrigtsen is very popular in Europe and offers great value for money for fans by turning up and providing great performances at events such as the European Indoors. As such he's a great supporter of athletics, a point Steve Cram made in the commentary box at the Europeans. Ingebrigtsen doesn't have to be an angel.

You Jingy glazers are something else. God damn.
He talked, he tried, he failed, and he got humiliated. Not even a medal.
Hocker ran 3:30 at the Olympic trials, soo... that's a no go as well. He still would have ran at least 3:28
They are arrogant enough to the point where it's annoying. Jingy tries the same strategy and fails almost every time. King of time trials. It cost him 2023 WC. And it again cost him an Olympic medal. When will he learn?
