During this COROS workout (see hr in red in chart down below), his hr rises from rep to rep, from what looks like low 150s to 170s, going through the first six or so, it stabilizes, falls after the first set and then rises, falls, and then rises quite a bit to his highest during the last several items.
Wise words HRE, thanks. The great Lydiard who once saw me running a 5000m and told I could be a very good runner.🙏🖐🧙🏼♂️🖐
But he did not say you could be a good coach ...
Ahaha! Why would he say that? He watched the race and ' valued' me with his experience and just told I had a great running form and seemed to have the talent necessary to be world class. 🇸🇪🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪👋

Yeah, just like Kamworor asked you to coach him. Funny how there is never evidence supporting your claims.

Well, this with 16-25 × 400m as I advocate as " bread and butter" to every runner is just confirmed from Jakob here to be one very good workout. My runners can even sometimes when preparing for a marathon do a specific 45 x 1 min at threshold with 1 min easy jog between or easy walk back to 120 bpm ( or 60% of max heartrate). With my very long experience I know for sure there is no need to do more than 20 x 400m when running them at 5 k pace to reach the absolute optimum race result at 5000m/ 10000m.I remember many great runners in history used 16-20 x 400m as a normal workout in their training weeks. E.g the Portuguese top runners long ago and Italian top squad used them frequently. Then we have Frank Shorter and many, many more.I myself used them often and 20 x 400m @ 68-69 sec and was expected to run around 14:30 at 5000m, I ran even better and 14:20 as best time. What I disagree with Jakob( if correct he said in this article) is what told it would be best to run the desired paces "on tired legs" . I advocate always , or atleast mostly, to run all intervals and repetitions on fresh legs as possible. This is the very best way to stimulate the so called supercompensation process to it's maximum. Good luck everyone with your training out there.

Well, I once showed word by word my coaching / advicing the Italian elite runner Pietro Riva but then some attacked me for revealing personal communication coach to runner, so I won't do that again. Well, atleast not here at this ' poisoned' place where anonymous people like you try to blacken my successful coaching.
I still have the chat- thread with Kam left.....🫨It 's from back in the fall of 2016 when Kam got interested in my coaching power after I had coached the marathon winners in Valencia and Nice-Cannes marathons that year. He asked me to send a sample week for him with my successful The DANCAN SYSTEM and I did and he came back to me and told he had compared with the written on paper schedule he got from his coach Sang and then asked me to coach him in secret to try for a world record at 15 k road in the Seven Hills race in December that year. Unfortunately he got sick in pneumonia and the coaching never happened. It's 100% true and of course I never lie here ......🇸🇪🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪
I never understand people who can train hard enough to leave it in workouts.
It seems difficult for me to hit paces close to balls to the wall race paces in anything other than an actual race.
I spent my first 3 years of HS training at faster than race pace. I was also chronically injured. I would also drastically slow down over the course of the workout. Like starting 16x200 in 34, gradually slowing down to 45-50s, and then 26-28 on the last one. My sophomore year I think I hit 3 400m PRs in 3 successive weeks on the first rep of workouts. I got a stress fracture a month or two afterwards though.
My coach spent a lot of time getting us to give our all, and at least for most of the team, he was too successful. It is difficult to hit race pace for every workout. It's also difficult to finish 10s behind your friends because they're all running faster than they should be, and your coach is trying to motivate you to go faster.

It’s actually a rather unfortunate “gift” to have, especially when you’re younger. A lot of high school coaches aren’t experienced/aware enough to be able to tell when an athlete is pushing too hard in training, and this can easily lead to burnout, injuries, and general frustration on both sides (speaking from experience).

- You never coached the winners of Valencia or Nice-Cannes. - Kamworor laughed when asked about what you claim. - No one needs to "blacken" your "successful coaching" because 1. you "blacken" yourself with your lies and 2. you are not a successful coach. - You have been caught lying here countess times. So you just lied again.
One of Haney's most famous maxims is “stimulate, don't annihilate.” This principle underscores the importance of working out with the goal of stimulating muscle growth, rather than pushing to the point of exhaustion or injury. Haney believed that effective training should leave the muscles feeling worked but not destroyed, allowing for consistent progress without burnout.

I never got that question. It's true what the magic mzungo tells.I asked Jan to coach me in secret. It's many years ago now so no big deal to tell the truth.
Today another good result in the 3rd AK XC series 10 k in Kenya by my coached top runner Jsp Kipchirchir Too and a 6th place. Congrats Jsp!👋💪💪💪🧙🏼♂️🇰🇪🇸🇪
