When Brosnan was at UCLA and had men going from 4:02 to 3:54 in the mile and athletes going to NCAA championships that no one thought could ever be All-American. He also has HS kids running top NCAA times.
Grant Fishers HS coach is killing it with Grant. When you can coach you can coach and Brosnan is one of the best we've seen.
Why hasn't this guy already been locked up of he's such a mid-distance whisperer? Is he coaching anyone at all right now?
I think one of the lessons we’ve learned in the last few years is that with the amount of information that’s out there, the gains of going from one coach to the next are marginal. Jerry was considered far and away the best American distance coach five years ago. Now, he can’t get Oregon into the top ten XC programs in the country despite an infinite budget & resources. You know what training he used last year? Double thresholds, which is something anyone with an internet browser, a lactate meter, and some discipline can apply. Ok State & BYU are slightly more old school, but they’re aerobic based and they’ve got the talent so they’re the best this year. With that, you’re seeing many top athletes going to smaller name coaches like Scannell and Confield. Obviously both are smart and competent, but the training is athlete centered and flexible to meet the demands of the athlete, rather than rigidly adhering to some system. I wouldn’t be surprised if some second-tier athletes join a Brosnan group, but the clear trend has been away from the guru-coach where the coach is the center of a team. It seems like the Brosnan supporters want a return to something that doesn’t exist anymore.

we dont know what violations there were but we are going to keep
Would the Brossnan bashers say their thoughts to him if they were in person together? I guess they wouldn’t. I imagine they wouldn’t even write about it in this forum if they had to identify themselves.

What's your point? Are the Brosnan bashers different than all the other bashers of people? Would people say the things they do to to the face of Jerry, Sean Carlson, etc, etc? Is Brosnan some kind of tough guy that people would be afraid of? I don't understand your point at all. It's an anonymous message board and that's the way message boards work.
If Brosnan has such thin skin, it might serve him to lay a little lower and not put himself out there like he does. Not saying that's wrong of him to do it, but he should understand that attention is't going to be 100% positive. Also, why doesn't Brosnan post under his own name instead of posting under all the anonymous names.

Not a chance in hell. Nothing more childish than to put aggressive and offensive comments about people on here and hide your own identity. The same people that post these comments would never dare say a word to Sean Brosnan or other athletes and coaches they post about in person. Would they reveal their identity. No way in hell. People hate online to seek social attention and approval from others. It’s actually a physiological issue they have. This is usually due to a void in their own life. It’s really sad when you think about it.
And please don’t say “hi Sean” to another poster. I live in Texas no place close to Brosnan.
Brosnan is starting a training group????? I hope she's more knowledgeable than my grandma. She was trying to force feed me Walpole for sore legs after a race the other day 🙏🙏🙏

Keyboard warriors literally to the T.
Brosnan’s and others success is hated by those with no success. It’s sad but fact. People tend to be jealous. It really just comes from being insecure, ashamed, negative about ones self.

Bingo Brother. Haters hate for reasons that usually come from expression of self hate at themselves and so they project that hate on others in order to feel better. Thats why they are anonymous and bitter. If you’re successful in life and self confident there is zero chance you post hate directed at others on here.
He announced he was starting his pro group last January. Any news or updates on who the sponsor is, who's on the team, where are they based, assistant coaches, etc?
Contracts usually end in December after an Olympic year. You can’t officially announce anything until then. So if it bothers you that much you have a little bit of a wait
Parker Valby just signed with NB and will be coached by Coogan. Weird! Why were they able to do this before December?

Parker is an athlete new to pro running and has no prior contract. If you’re currently in a contract that contract 95% of the time ends in December after the Olympics.

You must be new do this
OK, so he's only going to sign people who are currently under contract with someone else? He intentionally passed up the new athletes that were signed this year? Here's a sample of those signing in 2024 that he must not have had an interest in signing.

Can we all agree enough time has passed to confirm this pro group idea was total bogus?
Sean Brosnan definitely had the "idea" to start a pro group. He just hasn't been able to pull it off.
It seems like late 2024 would have been an ideal time to get it started because that's when the contracts of most pro runners expire and with new sponsors some of them might look for a new coach. But that time has passed. I think that Brosnan needs to give up on his idea of starting a pro group.
