A lot of posters have already mentioned that movies, in general, aren't as good as they used to be, and I agree. Just think about the films coming out today — most of them are reboots, sequels, or prequels. Originality in Hollywood is rare nowadays. We keep seeing the same actors, often being overshadowed by newer, spunky characters. Look at characters like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Indiana Jones, and Jack Sparrow — it’s always the same trope: 'Tired old man comes back one last time, only to be made a fool of.'
And don’t even get me started on Marvel. Since Endgame, that genre has fallen off a cliff. If you disagree, just consider this: in 1999, you could’ve gone to the theater to see Fight Club, The Matrix, The Green Mile, The Sixth Sense, October Sky, Austin Powers, Star Wars: Episode 1, The Mummy, and more — all in one year. Compare that to today.
Sure, there are still some good films, like The Irishman, Dune, or Avatar 2, but there are so many flops that audiences are losing interest. In fact, more people are watching YouTubers critique content than watching the content itself, which really says something.
