This is their winter. No one trains to peek in the winter so people in the southern hemisphere are running at the Olympics in their offseason. I don't expect them to do all that well because of that.

Snell, Halberg, Walker, Dixon and Quax - and of course Willis - didn't take your advice.
I can’t stop thinking about this. it’s really odd that she ran that time, it was like a one hit wonder. No other results, even ones that she did literally like a week later, match that fitness. Maybe the Olympics was closer that 30:35, but still, the math ain’t mathing. She came runner up at the Aus champs on the weekend & it’s all could think about. Someone who can run 30:35 wouldn’t race like she does.

Agree...I kept wondering if that race was counted a lap short!
Rose Davies has improved her 5K time from 15:07 to 14:41.
Isobel Batt-Doyle has improved her 5K time from 15:04 to 14:49.
Lauren Ryan has improved her 10K time from 32:09 to 30:35. Her 5K PR before this year was 15:11 but now she can average under 15:18 pace for 10K!
A lot of improvement from Australian women this year.
Something else that’s noteworthy about these women is almost all of them have different coaches.
Hull is coached by her dad.
Davies is coached by Scott Westcott.
Batt-Doyle and Diver are coached by Nic Bideau.
Ryan is coached by Lara Rodgers.
If they were part of the same training group, then we might suspect doping is contained to that group. Knowing that they mostly have different coaches, I worry about the possibility that doping might be widespread throughout the country. What do you all think?
