If Boston men were running at full strength, they are in big trouble this year. UMass Dartmouth is not a legit 8k. They look vulnerable to Army, Lehigh, and Bucknell.
Where were all the Boston women? Are Sjoberg and Liljegren hurt? What about Prosser?
My house arrest was temporarily lifted and I made it to this meet. The course was underwater. At mile 4 a submarine camera emerged from the river to record the meet. Personally, I think that navy may have felt at home here— army would have likely had to sit out. A good day for them to take their military “supplements”
What happened to BU today at Paul Short? Beat by Bucknell and finished 28th out of 44 teams
Was at the meet, looked like half their team got tripped up at the bottleneck portion of the start and went down.
Boston was 13th at the mile as a team but went backwards from there. Was the pile up after the mile or at the turn at 800 meters?
The Bottleneck, I’m sure they rushed to stay up at the (kinda) front. HR probably spiked and was a slow death. Either way. Losing to bucknell is tough.
This smells like a BU runner making excuses for getting smoked by Bucknell
Same question could be asked about Lehigh who lost to Colgate in the merge
Heart rate is a good metric to go by here. Personally, I would have asked about the Wingate (watergate) alumni in the cornfield stretching a wire along the bottleneck opening. All their runners seemed to “jump” over it in the replay as they went over, when the pile up began behind them. Very suspect for this to happen in this nature, but a commendable tactic. Hidden in the corn. If you look at my athletes in 2012, this was a method that went unnoticed in the 2012 Olympic trials in the steeplechase!! Classic dental wire trip.
Not sure why Navy put countiss in the open race.

i dont know why i do this, this conference is a bit of a joke. year in and year out nine teams get dragged through the wringer trying to beat a mid navy team who would get cooked in any other conference. If army and navy opt into this new legislation then maybe it would be more fair. Im having a hard time staying awake writing this. I hope one day one of these teams gets really good but I highly doubt it.

As a Lafayette alumnus I'm deeply saddened by the performance of the Pards. Lafayette's men are the worst team in the league right now. They barely beat Holy Cross who was holding out their top runner. Humiliated by Loyola and Colgate.
They got 3rd in 2020 in Navy's absence, 4th in 2021, and even had one of the best recruiting classes in the Patriot League heading into 2022 XC. They were unable to retain their distance coach, Curcio took 7 months to hire an unqualified high school coach, and now are looking at a last place finish in 2024.
The Lafayette women got 4th in 2020 in Navy's absence and have lost handily to every Patriot League school they've faced this year.
As of today, both the Lafayette men and women are projected to be LAST PLACE at Patriot Leagues on their home course. Their entire coaching staff needs to be removed immediately so they can hire someone competent.
I will NOT be losing to countiss or smigo. Name a time and place and this 10k is going down.
It's probably a short course but American averages 24:25 this weekend and best some good teams.
They might be a favorite for 2nd behind Navy. Army had a faster average but American ran the championship course earlier this year and may have an advantage.

Running the course before does not do that much. You're insane if you think American is beating Army and BU.
Bucknell men were missing four of their varsity runners. Bu should be quaking in their boots.
Stop the arguing!! :( I'm just glad everyone had fun at Paul Short this weekend. Boy, I sure love to see a bunch of guys in the same place giving it their all! I especially took pleasure out of seeing my guys AND the hard working, fair-haired American U boys leave it all out on that course. Wish some of them would leave it all out on me! Haha.
If only there was some way we could all win by beating each other.
Speaking of guys giving it their all, I'll be holding an EXTRA long team meeting with my favorite guys, Baroncini and Diaz, in the shower today. AU is invited too! (Don't tell my coach or he'll throw a HUGE temper tantrum and tell on me!! He beat the SHlT out of me at practice last week XD )
