Just a reminder, as we approach the end of her ban that Shelby did permanent damage to the sport of US distance running. I don't care about her strava account.
It is because of her that any fast time or improvement is called into question. Monson, St. Pierre, even Tuohy, Valby, and of course, her former teammates. No talk of them without legitimate concerns about whether or not they are doping.
Every clean runner should detest her because of this. Now they have to deal with suspicion. on top of this, she tried to grift money, run with her old team, and enter into races.

Not that she (or anyone really) cares, but to me it completely ruins Shalane's reputation. Calls not just the NYC win, but her entire career into question.
the level of leanness that Shalane achieved was questionable. And the fact that she was perfectly willing to race the trials in prototype vaporflys that only she and her teammate had access to says a lot to me.
She helped further damage the sport of distance running even more so than those other older drug cheats because of the higher visibility of her case in public media and her attempts to fight/counter the positive test (especially with social media and the internet).
Also she permanently damaged the reputation and reliability of food trucks, especially those that serve burritos, with her fabricated/speculative claim that they gave her the wrong order and it contained tainted pork offal.
She likely contributed to the damage and downfall of one of the top distance training/racing groups in the U.S., and also the other members of that group.
The thing is these bans are a joke, the cheaters should receive a life time ban, that is the only way to stop the flood of cheaters. Who cares about shelby anymore anyway, old news, a cheater, move on.
Losing 4 years from her prime, missing two Olympics, having her reputation destroyed, and losing a substantial amount of income, is no joke. Guilty, or not, the ban was no slap on the wrist.
Not many serious track fans take anything Shelby Houlihan says or posts seriously. The boos will rain down when she returns to the track. Lets stop the burrito nonsense.
Uh, no. The significant improvement after college, is strong circumstantial evidence that doping would have started upon becoming a pro.
that seems pretty reasonable to me considering she dropped about 15 seconds in the 1500 and roughly 30 secs/mile in the 5000 after college
y'all getting triggered too easily with the downvotes
i'm saying it's reasonable to think she started doping given she dropped 15 seconds in the 1500 and 30secs/mile in the 5000 after college
the speed was always there with the 55 second 400 in high school, but yeah she needed some jet fuel to really take advantage of it in the middle distance events
She's a pathetic drug cheat, the bans should be lifetime bans for actual doping as opposed to whereabouts and minor infractions. She's a cheater, a liar and a fraud. I'm going to throw burritos on the track and encourage, maybe even supply others with some so they can do same. Gonna make Burrito Boy in Eugene a fortune!
Booooo! Shelboooo! Boooooo!

I feel the same way about intoxicated drivers, illegal voters, illegal immigrants, welfare recipients capable of working, university presidents who plagiarize their 'thesis', politicians who lecture about paying taxes or not using government to get rich but didn't mind helping themselves that way (regardless of political party), and so on and so forth . If you're caught...lifetime ban.
I would have done the same thing watching the likes of Kipyegon, Hassan and Tsegay get away with blatant cheating.
As a former pro runner who doped, I have a difficult time disagreeing with you. Clearly those 3 (and legion of others) were and are doped to the gills, as the expression goes.
