That's true. But most of what people are calling "NILs" for high school students don't involve any money, just free shoes, clothes, and other fun stuff. Only a few high school students, like Ritzenhein and Engelhardt, are actually getting money.
Leachman has a fake NIL with Nike as part of their "Nike Elite" program. But as far as a real NIL goes, I'm guessing that she doesn't want one. She says she already gets very nervous about racing, and she doesn't use social media. I think that she thinks an NIL would bring too much pressure and expectations.
She even said in an interview recently that her parents won't be upset if she quits running after she graduates high school. So I think the pressure is already starting to get to her, and she doesn't want to do anything to make it worse.

I have as well, there isn't a single aspect of nepotism in my life. I'm in my early 40s and got where I am on my own. My parents taught me work ethic, being financially smart and to be a kind human.
