Ex-college track coach gets 5-year sentence in nude photo case

I was wondering this as well. If his acting career has panned out, I guess he has made the D-list?

What I found particularly striking about the case was that his lawyer had the gall to object to an agreement that he never coach or mentor girls or women or do the same thing he just did. That is on the heels of his behavior after his initial arrest, where he continued to do the same thing he was charged with. All that suggests that there is little chance of cure. Yet, this guy was able to work at all those different track programs.

His lawyer, Jane Peachy,

"expressed opposition to the final sentence and pushed back on several conditions upon his release, including not coaching or mentoring women or girls nor receiving or soliciting inappropriate photos of girls or women."

Wow this guy is a real problem

While reading through tho, I thought this part was weird:

"He was willing to violate university rules. He was willing to violate conditions of release," one victim said.

This seems like a strange thing to say. Why would a victim of his see extremely malicious behavior through the lens of something like "violating university rules"? I'm confused why someone would say this—I'd think if someone was viewing into your private life you wouldn't think: "This guy is violating the rules of my university! Stop breaking University rules, mister!", but "This guy is a criminal sociopath who is violiting me."

Probably because violating university rules should have gotten him fired from the universities where he worked in the first place. How did this guy keep getting jobs at other track and field programs when he was doing this at each place and leaving repeatedly--presumably because there were complaints. What did track coaches at places like Northeastern, Penn State, and Tennessee, among the other places he coached, do when these problems were reported and when they were asked for references from other schools? Did they not just turn a blind eye and let more women be victimized?

Maybe. It is impossible to prove you didn’t do something. No matter what, the percentage of those who do is unacceptable.
Congrats to those who don’t for doing the bare minimum.

Actually it's not that hard to prove you didn't steal a bunch of nude photos. They clearly have something on this guy or they wouldn't have fired him. Probably looked on his phone and found them.

Maybe just read the article. It isn't that long.

It makes you wonder if there wasn't some stupidity on the part of the female athletes. Since when does a person keep a nude pic on their phone?

I am glad that he got a real sentence. A guy who would risk a dream life with a dream job to do this is going to be a horrible person in so many other ways.
