I'd like to rescind my complaint about the commentary from the morning session thread. The BBC commentary (thanks NordVPN!) is pretty good. Cram knows is his stuff.

Exactly. Haylom seems a step behind the other two in her current fitness plus decidedly more vulnerable in a championship style race. I’m picking 1. Hailu 2. Welteji 3. Hiltz with the lean for bronze.
I think Nikki and Emily will both break the record, just a question who gets to that line first. I'll go with Emily, confidence is everything and she has it right now for sure. She's not a kicker and she almost beat Nikki in a kicker's race as USAs, that's a good sign.

Sarah Healy tripped and fell after slight contact with Haylom it looked like, might be an appeal to put get Healy in to the final
I was going to say, Healy felt like a safe bet to make the final and looked to be in good shape from the 1400 split. Hopefully she’ll get in on protest

I like it. In a likely slow race, i think Stafford might be dangerous too. Hiltz goes off as favorite to steal the bronze though i agree.
Omanyala is going to get DQ’d one of these times. He’s been out of his lane in the heats and the semis. Lucky for him he’s been far enough ahead it didn’t matter.
Lyles vs Omanyala, tough heat here with Tada who looked good in the heat too
Good prelim, Noah revving it up but Coleman still the favorite. Omanyala drifting lanes again and might've messed up Tada slightly though he still qualified.
