It's smart to take the whole indoor season off if she is not 100%. But, that only leaves a few months to go for the standard. I wonder if she is running or just cross training.
I suspect if she was healthy enough to fly to CO to present the Gatorade award then she was not terribly injured, and is probably just training.
if you're a pro runner and injured, you tend to have not a hell of a lot of other things to do.
My takeaway from this thread is that KT has a minor injury and is treating it appropriately while training appropriately. Last year she peaked for indoor. This year she is base training instead of peaking for indoor. Likely went to doubles since she now has the time. Will be ready to peak for outdoors.

Nobody has said that she is thinner than the average NCAA distance runner. She looks about average - not thinner, not bigger. Weight has never been an issue for her.
