Sammy Watson wins the 800 in 2:01 over Boffey, Wilson, and Thomas who faded over the final 200
Mark English won the 600 in 1:16.64. The interesting thing is 2nd and 3rd were 1:16.67 and 1:16.68. Good finish.
Engelhardt 4:32.66 ftw

Isn’t that under one of Tuohy’s, who ran a 4:33, (from memory)?

I think Englehardt said in interviews she was targeting 4:30 last year, but obviously came up short. Good to see she is making progress.

Her time was 4:34.45. 4:32.66 was her 1600 split.
I'm watching it on peacock

With a p.r.! I remember she was stellar in H.S. and has been at it for a long time since.

1:05 for the first 400 is simply foolish. I do think she can scare 4:2x if she just paces a bit better.
Also watching on Peacock - but grimacing at Swangard and Johnson on commentary!

you are right, missed that on the timing site

That's probably Sammy Watson's best race since she went pro 5 years ago.
Ellie to the front!
ESP looking mighty good for a rust buster! She’s on 8:23 3K pace!!
Did you know that ESP grew up on a diary farm??

Sadie Engelhardt was just following the girl in front of her, instead of running a pace that works best for her.
She isn't used to having someone in front of her. She is still learning.
