I hope she makes the team. Have you looked at the Paris course map? There is a lot of elevation gain with more than 400m! Molly excels on hard courses like NYC or the 2020 trials. She's be an absolute asset to have in paris. People like Sisson who are incredibly fast (for an American) have not shown as much potential on hilly courses.
Terrible coverage. Cameras only on the leaders, and by that I mean leader that was far ahead, not showing any of the chase pack until after 16. And even then, only sparingly.
You do realize it's maybe 100 people on average, if that? That is NOT even a "statistical" amount to take the time to compute a mean score. Downvotes of 25??? Oh boy, that's really saying something;)
Molly had the star align today and pr'd in near perfect conditions on a super fast course. Emily Sisson had an awful day and soundly beat her. On a solid day for Emily, Molly is almost 1 mile behind her.
By the way, people lie. Throwing up in a bathroom before the Olympics? Guy on a plane story? Sure, the guy tells someone he's never met on what to do to become faster runner and what elite women do (like Molly herself). And he'd tell a complete stranger that as if he'd know she's wanting to get faster, aka not a hobby jogger? Completely made up story, zero doubt about it. Ever hear of "clicks" that generate money?
Well, sponsored runners have a hard life. Contractually they are obligated to create social media content all the time. Some are better at this than others because they are runners and not content creators.
You could definitely argue the US women didn't have a great day. The top US woman is our American record holder, and she was 8.5 minutes back from the leader, who didn't even set the world leading time. And over a mile back from 2nd place. People are always bashing the American men, but they're closer to the front. 2:04 was 2nd place, there were 5 American men within a mile of 2nd place, zero American women a mile from 2nd place.

Emma Bates has just posted that she went over on her foot at a water station (and she was having a few plantar issues anyway) and was hobbling and had to stop a few times. Which we would have seen had they shown any footage of the American women running - all we got was Em’s last mile or so.
So good to know it wasn’t a fitness issue.
We were at mile 26 and she was limping very badly at the end. We were surprised she continued and hoped that she didn't hurt herself in the long term by continuing.

A top US marathoner who has struggled recently is back to form and maybe even better. That's great news for her and for us as fans. Simple as. Everything else is this thread should be dsm-5 diagnosable.
This was unexpected, Molly Seidel actually set a new PB at the Chicago Marathon 2023 with 8th place at 2:23:07 after we all thought she was washed up and past her best before date with her antics and slow performances at shorter races this year.
In other news, I'm extremely disappointed at Emily Sisson with only a 2:22:09 seeing how she holds the American marathon record and got a lot slower when this was perfect weather. Same goes for Emma Bates and Des Linden, I'm disappointed in both of them for running so much slower than they've done in the past when the Kenyans and Ethiopians are running faster than ever. As usual, the American women are at the bottom of the results as a pack.
