Isn't one of the things for OAC that they don't like their own athletes competing with each other on a national level? And they already have Monson and Norris who runs some 5ks so i'm not sure they want a 3rd american athlete at the same distance. BTC or flagstaff group with Smith seem more likely to me than OAC
This is true but I could see Norris on the way out as the 5k teammate and Tuohy replacing her. Big Josette fan but she doesn’t have it.
Norris was injured in the latter part of the season.
Was at NC States home XC meet yesterday and noticed no Tuohy despite seeing pretty much the rest of their team walking around. Must of been pretty important to skip that (and class) and go to Pre

Can anyone explain to a non American why Tuohy hasn't raced a track season? Is it because she does this American cross country season all off season and f so, why doesn't she race the world junior Cross Country championships?

College has 3 seasons, faĺl xc, winter indoor, spring outdoor track thru June 10. Those that are good enough can do usatf meet in late June and euro Meets in summer.
TuOhy ran all 3 seasons then the usatf meet, where she did not qualify for world team. She then went to off season and is now back for college xc. Touhy now 21 is too old for Jr xc.
College xc ends in November. Usa xc is in January, so few collegians run usa xc, as they have already moved on to indoor track.

She's really no different than other collegiate athletes that preceded her.

College XC seems really pointless from a preparing to be an elite athlete in the near future perspective. Fine for hobby joggers who want the camaraderie of competing for their college and running with their friends but a waste of time for an athlete who should be experiencing the European circuit instead.
Look at Laros for an athlete not wasting their time in academic competition.
