I guess this confirms Wiley is not going pro/staying at Huntington. But I wonder if she was considered by the meet directors for a wild card.
Wiley not being on the start list confirms absolutely nothing about her going or not going pro. Wiley simply didn't have enough Diamond League points to get in.
Not sure why people are tying to read things into it that aren't there.
Rojo said on the most recent pod Nike is trying to sign her
Does Mu have enough Diamond League points to be in this meet?
Athing Mu is:
Olympic Champion
World Champion
American record holder
Professional athlete
Sponsored by Nike
Addy Wiley is none of those things. Those 2 women are not comparable.
Truth! I’m sure there were exceptions made in this meet in a number of events. Everyone wants to see Moraa-Hodgekinson-Mu race again, that sells tickets.
I'd rather see Wiley in the 1500m than Cory McGee (a 4+ 1500m runner) and Sinclaire Johnson (behind Wiley last time out). She has a better pr in the 800m after one circuit attempt than Hurta-Klecker, Lamote, and Bisset, and only 0.02 behind Nakaayi, so they should have found a way to get her in to one of those races. Her ceiling puts her at 1:57 or better this year in this race.

Why all the downvotes on this post? Is it untrue?
Because no one was comparing Wikey to Mu. Obviously, Mu gets in before Wiley or any other American. But some were suggesting Wiley would be more competitive than HK or McGee.

Except both of these women raced a ton of diamond league races and had points to qualify while Wiley raced one DL race. So while AW may be more competitive, replacing these 2 women isn't really the best argument. Maybe instead of Sinclaire would be the better choice.
Mu accepted the wild card spot. Therefore Rogers and Akins could not compete as they didn’t have the points to get in.
Yep, that is clear and was easy.
However could you clarify, being so smart and informed, what does this mean - copy from the DL page: "In each discipline, one athlete may also qualify via national or global wildcard."? - because there is a mess for me in DL materials and no detailed PDFs (while they have "certain conditions apply" for rewards).
So national they wanted to write: country where the final takes place, ok, not so very illogical. But what is it global wildcard, to whom it's granted and on what terms?
Especially Rogers who is sponsored by Nike, an Oregon alum, and is on the tower.
My guess is that Rogers turned down a spot, maybe because of injury.
Also known As; I don't feel like getting smoked again in front of a home crowd in a stadium with a huge picture of me on the tower.
Don't know why this is so complicated. Hurta in final on points in 7th place in DL standings. Mu got the 1 US host wild card. If Mu turned it down, then they would have gone down the list to Rogers and Akins.
