ya. i thought it was weird when i went back in the jakob 5000 thread, and this kiplieri guy was the most adamant poster that Jakob didn't have a chance against the africans. now he's acting like he's distressed about a possible injury to jakob. lol
I think kipleri is Passant under yet another screen name. Great to see Katir get crunched today, by the way.
If so he is reaching a level that is extremely worrying from a health perspective.
And why then did they mention the choice to skip the 5000m race? They mentioned his name and that choice so they were clearly talking about him.
What name did you hear? Ingebrigtsen? Jakob Ingebrigtsen? Henrik Ingebrigtsen?
Did you know that Henrik Ingebrigtsen also is picked to run the 5000m in Budapest? Against all odds (because of injuries) -have you / your Italian sources confused one brother with the other? But there’s no DNS on Henrik either…
They were clearly talking about Jakob, not Henrik actually. "Italian Runner" can confirm that. They called him with his name and surname and once he showed up for warming they went on saying he has decided to skip the 5000m.
I did listen to it now and you are right, they said so, but I truly believe it has no foundation and they might have meant to mean someone else. They said he was injured and it's surprising hes at the start, but they made it sound like public knowledge and it obviously does not look like it is.
Please you all, read this. I'm not mad and all the italians could hear what Bragagna said. Keep in mind that he personally knows the Ingebrigtsen. It Is hard to Say "he is skipping the 5000m" in front of 60 million people if It Is not true.
Today Leigh Diffey stated that Nordas set a Norwegian national record in the first round of the 1500. He was doing commentary for NBC, and he seemed to have no problem making a false statement.

In Ingebrigtsens interview straight after the race he said that he thought to himself that the Norwegian commentator, Jann Post, must have been saying "He is boxed in! Jakob is boxed in!" while Jakob was running in the middle of the pack.
What do you think are the chances that a random italian commentator know more about Jakobs race plans than the journalists that are closest to him? I'm not saying they are zero, but come on, it just doesn't make any sense. What injury would it be?

You can never trust italian commentators, they're always saying random stuff... they actually called him Jakub (with an u) how would they know if he's injured they don't even know his name
If this Italian had a reliable source, if he actually said that, at least we would have read about it somewhere else. But not so. And then he ran the last lap at 51:68, not 50:63. But even that is not bad for a guy with an injury.
