I am a fan of Joe but everything about this race was DUMB. Why chose a race with so many athletes in it? He got boxed in and it ruined his chances at the standard. He literally brought his own rabbit, he could have run anywhere.
Even though he was boxed in, he had more than enough opportunities to get closer to the rabbit before the last 300m. He played it way too safe.

Well said, he goes right to 10th, he did NOT have to do that, he could have run slightly harder early to get to the rabbits in 3rd to 5th place, then he gets 1:55. 2:21.x .2:53
runs 40 anything even 41 ..he gets his Q'er, this was all on him, not a big field. Sorry

Just to clarify..the field was way too big, but that issue would have been mitigated, if the guy who needed the Q got out quicker and followed Pacers more closely from the get go.
