Has she raced a successful Steeple after her infamously stated she would make the Olympic team in 2021? I think she stated on CitiusMag how she was basically a guaranteed spot or something similar..... Ironic
She has had a hip stress fracture before, which is a scary injury. She could be worried that she has a stress reaction in the hip, and was hopping a week of no running would have helped it. If she felt the pain on the warm up, it’s a sure fire sign something is seriously wrong. This is an injury that you definitely DON’T run on, even for 1 mile.
Convenient excuse. It’s clearly all in her head. Had a feeling she’d pull something like this again when I saw the instagram story about her USAs prep not going as expected. She knew she didn’t have a shot at top 3 but didn’t want everyone else to know it.
it must be nice to be so confident in your ability to diagnose someones injury through a computer
Not sure if calling her a quitter like Biles was is 100 % correct . then people calling her a mental health hero during the summer Olympics no less made it worse . Biles that is
Colleen’s heart is not into this anymore . more social media posts usually is a sign of lack of focus on the sport and trying to keep herself relevant . trialthons may not be an easy thing either . Competitive world .
I think Colleen simply wants to stay relevant in the sport and have people look at her, but that time has passed. I tuned in to watch her race given it would be a good story, but I'm done, won't watch any longer. I also don't think she is truly invested in track and simply wants to get "clicks".
She won’t be competitive at the Tri. She isn’t a fast swimmer (just judging this based on her videos and technique) and can’t seem to run much these days either. I really feel for her. She’s super talented but you can’t be injury prone at the pro level. Her best bet is maybe going full send into biking IMO.
She actually warmed up. A lot. I thought she was doing a workout she was doing so many plyometrics. It was crazy… Next thing they are calling her name to the clerk
Probably why her hip actually hurt. 1 hour of drills will do that to ya.

Interesting take, Jamin. I seem to recall that within the past week you were claiming to be in 1:59 shape for 800 meters but you were also hesitant to prove it. It's hypocritical to call someone mental when you show a similar fear of racing/possible embarrassment and will not toe the line yourself.
Surely it was fraud for her to sign with LuluLemon without disclosing the extent of her injuries?!?
It isn't fraud. She isn't paid to make teams or win US titles, she is paid to bring awareness to Lululemon. Her being injured has absolutely no impact on her ability to do that, and the idea of her making the choice she feels is best for her well being is probably more in line with their brand ethos than her lining up to race knowing it won't go well.

How do you know? Have you seen the contract?
I saw her in person once at a PT facility. I didn’t know who she was at the time. When she walked in, I said to myself, “She’s gotta be a model.”
I’d bet her looks are a bigger factor in her deal than her performance in races only a minuscule percentage of the Lulu customers even know exists.
She became a social media personality who races 2-3 times a year in 2020? It’s been a while. She’s getting paid regardless but if she raced at US champs she would be destroyed. Smart move on her part to scratch and still generate an income up until the hour before. Savvy. I admire her the way you do a thief. Excellent work
While I'm not a fan of the way Nike treats their athletes as a whole, maybe this is why they have certain rules in place, like you have to race a certain amount of times etc?
I like Colleen. But she hasn't been globally competitive in a while. After she left Nike she lost focus and became more of an influencer. She seems unsure of what direction she wants to go in; track or tri, and ultimately, I believe she wants neither. She wants to be a model, she wants attention, and she wants to influence. She knows her claim to this is her racing, but she doesn't want to race.
I'm not hating on her for choosing another path, but the reason people pay attention to her in the first place was because there was a time when she was an excellent runner. People, including Colleen seem to believe that social media changed the game and now it's not longer about being a good runner it's about the way you market yourself. I disagree. It's always been about marketing even before social media, and ultimately, you can know how to market yourself as much as you can but if you aren't doing it on the track, you don't have much of anything to build on.

Companies across any industry don't sponsor athletes / spokespeople out of the goodness of their hearts, they sponsor them because they feel like it will help drive sales. I think we can all agree that Quigley has done a FANTASTIC job promoting their newish running line, and her being an olympian gives their running brand a sense of legitimacy with the more casual crowd. Whether or not she makes a team while running for them will almost certainly do nothing to help their sales that she already hasn't done. Also, she has said that one of the best parts about Lululemon is the lack of a win at all costs culture and a genuine emphasis on self-care. Her not lining up because she is injured (no matter if its real or not) seems pretty in line with what she says Lululemon values to me.
They've both gotten exactly what they've wanted. Squigs got a pay raise and more freedom, and Lululemon got a great spokeswoman who has raised a ton of awareness for their running line. Sports are a business and I have a ton of respect for her for maximizing her career.

Which is exactly why her deal is not just about her looks. Models don’t cost anywhere near what she’s being paid for for the amount they use her image, unless they are a well known face.
the fact is, even as a model or an influencer, she is being wildly overpaid by LuluLemon, and of course they had expectations of her to race, the same as they expect Leylah Fernandez to play tennis.
