It should be pointed out that the US lags way behind the E African and Europeans in T&F distance performance especially compared to our dominance at other T&F events. We are decent at Mid D and great at sprints. As far as the marathon goes, Japan has significantly more runners below 2:10 than the US has despite having many 1,000s of post D1 XC athletes who should have good marathon trajectories.
The Norwegians, Japanese, and E African don't use Daniels training methods. ...Are we just assuming this is the best training despite legitimate performance data that shows otherwise??
