Moving on, I will admit I am disturbed by the fact that I had the same thought, though.
I've always said I'd bet my life that the BTC is a clean group. But I'm not a moron, as a fan, you pretty much have to have a sliver of doubt about all performances that aren't your own or you aren't thinking logically.
Anyway, 1% of me thought when I was listening to that video and he mentioned how ON wasn't that interested, "Sounds like his contract was up or may be up for renewal. Is there a chance he went to the darkside for a few months to pop a good one and get a new deal?"
Not it's SICK that my brain contemplated that for even a sliver of a second but I must admit someone planted that idea with me for Ritzenhein 10 years ago when he seemignly popped a 2:07 out of nowhere in 2012.

Excluding Lagat, who was focused on 1500 in his prime, none of the other guys were born and raised at altitude.

Does not make sense for Kennedy and Solinsky to have run sub-13 5000m with their body builds. We are down to Rupp, Dathan R and Lagat. Dathan R was limited by his lack of 1500m ability so he wasn't going to race 5000m much faster. Did Lagat like racing 5000m? How fast are 1:46.00/3:26.xx 800/1500 guys supposed to race 5000m? Let's see what W K does outdoors. Some gals and guys are racing their personal 1500m to 2 miles indoors. Be patient.
Quick to focus on the doping aspect of success but what about the shoes; or the possibility of shoes on roids? The shoes are never in the discussion but they have proven over the last few years to drastically improve performance. Are there shoes that perform better then what is common knowledge and if so are shoes being tested after major events?
Everyone here overstates the impact of drugs on performance. Did you not pay attention during Icarus? Did you not realize a single doped Russian distance runner couldn’t break 3;30, 12:50, 27:00, 2:04?
I challenge anyone to do what Icarus did and get on a doping program and be disappointed you don’t become an Olympian.

The problem with the Russians is that all they did/do is to focus on the doping and their training is sh*t. In order to perform at the highest level you need great talent/great coaching/great doping.

Whats disturbing about this podcast is that not only is Woody 100% sure Shelby is innocent the host himself refuses to take a stand and wont bring up any reason to suspect her.
All because shes their friend or team mate, not because of any other reason.

IT AIN'T JUST GOOD HARD TRAINING + TALENT.
Forget about the outdoor/indoor distinction, it’s not a thing with newer indoor tracks/BU’s plywood and the advantage of perfect conditions/no wind. So in reality he’s more like 12-15 seconds plus the few seconds (at least) we can give to the spikes. That’s a second per lap outdoors and the difference between Woody and Sean McGorty aka vast.

Sure but if you shoot up some EPO, you will run 15-20s faster over 5k. Go look up Cathal Lombards progression to see what it does for a subelite runner...nothing going from a 30:30 guy to a 28 min guy in a year....
