Besides being completely false (masters sprint records are closer to open records than distance), "fast twitch" is just such a dumb trope.
Sprinters move fast because they've trained their body to run a high cadence gait cycle. Explosive power helps, but in the end this is about technique. Like a drummer or guitarist playing real fast.
