One reason this OFFENDs me is that women have fought for generations for our unique health issues like often-debilitating menstrual cramps, heavy bleeding, endometriosis and PMS/PMDD to be taken seriously by the medical profession and the world - yet these problems are still pooh-poohed as trivial and not given the same due and attention that health problems affecting males get.
So it sticks in the craw of some of us who have been fighting our whole lives to get female-only health issues to be taken seriously to see young entitled males from the "first world" with little life experience, no understanding of women and our bodies - some of whom aare still probably depending on their mothers to pay their bills and provide them with health insurance (and maybe their meals, laundry and internet service too) - making a mockery of these very real health problems and all the women and girls who experience them by saying that their male bad moods, stomach aches, bowel pains, diarrhea, undigested burritos and trapped gas are not only just as bad as menstrual uterine cramps and menstrual-related distress, but they are actually caused by periods, pre-menstrual syndrome and the same kind of "cycles" that women and girls go through.
Another reason I am OFFENDED is that throughout history, men and boys have mocked, privately humiliated, publicly shamed, stigmatized, bullied, ostracized, punished, banished and discriminated against girls and women for having periods. Menstruation and related natural female bodily processes have been used by men and boys time and again in the past - and still are used in the present in much of the world - to justify excluding girls and women from the voting booth, education, property ownership, sports and PE, worship and the clergy, jobs, professions, activities like operating machinery and motor vehicles, positions of responsibility, high elected office - and to justify denying us basic legal rights and the chance to participate fully in life outside the home.
So it's galling to some of us to see a bunch of young, entitled males who've lived pampered "first world" lives - and whose own very limited "lived experience" seems to consist largely of gaming, watching online porn, consuming mass media like anime, sci fi and fantasy, mirror-gazing, cosplay, selfie-taking and "gender studies"- now playacting at having periods, menstrual cramps and PMS for attention, "validation" and social media entertainment and bragging rights - all the while making it seem as though periods themselves and all the social and political consequences that women and girls have been made to suffer for them by men and boys since time immemorial either didn't happen or simply don't matter. Coz to these guys - oops, I mean this particular subset of "transwomen" - periods are simply a ploy to get sympathy, social media views and likes, and an excuse to eat chocolate.
My question to you is: if you are really a woman as you keep saying you are, how come you aren't offended by this at all?
