There's a simple answer: Race her at a distance where your fitness is superior to hers. Lots of women in the NCAA could beat Touhy - at 100m, 200m, 400m, 800, and 1500m.
I wouldnt say lots of people could beat her in an 800, some could but not lots. But if Touhy woke up tommorrow and decided to run the indoor mile instead of the 3k/5k, she is not losing.
There are some upcoming sophomores who run the 1500m in the ACC who will certainly do better than last year. Wouldn’t count them out this year.
Is degenero coming back? I think she has a faster closing 400m, 200m
katelyn ran 4:06 and will only get bettter.. also the 4:06 looked too easy for her
degenero could be her top competition but i think she graduated, but still think katelyn will win the mile if thats what shes going to run and train this season
this thread does not give enough focus on katelyn's middle distance prowess probably because its not the event she runs at nationals but katelyn could train and run middle distances and still would win national titles if she wanted to! 4:06 is 4:25 mile .. thats the college record .. she ran 4:33 at 16 ... katelyn havnt run a mile race in like 3 years
katelyn broke a 36-year mile record in 98 degree heat, 4:33 is an insane time for a 16 year old, basically a time you have to run to win an ncaa title.. yet she never ran a mile since she entered college

i meant, this site.. katelyn could become the top ncaa middle distance runner if she wanted to .. she ran more 1500m than 5000m in HS
Why do low i.q. people too often call others dumb? Look at your username. If you had a dozen or two dozen higher i.q. you would know you are or you're. Work on it.
You're an idiot!
It's Google speech to text! And who cares if you can understand the point it's just a nitpicking nitwit who focuses on unnecessary grammar
I mean this is a message board and as long as you can understand The point of the message then who cares beyond that!!!
Anyway this is all being driven by one guy who is desperate for her to do bad and doesn't realize the basic point that she's the best in the world for her age
I'll repeat that again because you nitwits don't seem to understand it she is the number one ranked runner for her age in the world!
She will be the best American runner ever.
And she will win multiple international medals
She will be way better than any of her contemporaries she will break 1430 and set multiple American records!
Again you knit wits who is probably just one person posting under multiple names can look at her and see that she is just on another level compared to the rest of the competition
Sorry that you're jealous and desperate to bring her down and went on and on about how she would lose and look like a fool in retrospect!!!
You've just proved what that poster said about your IQ.
Do what Wightman did against Ingebrigtsen - get a perfectly paced race, get great positioning, and kick like hell. But sometimes that's still not going to be enough.

Tuohy is a bit like the Jakob of women's NCAA right now...beatable at 1500 perhaps by a well-timed move, but not going to lose at 3000 or 5000.

I hope she runs the 1500m. But she needs to get her final 400m into the 62 (good) or 61 range (better) to have more options in that race, even at NCAA level. Can she run a 200m in under 30?
Otherwise she will just have to go hard and front run every time.
