If Tuohy is the fastest seed then yes,Tuohy and her coach will have a say in how fast the pacer runs.
I don't think Tuohy will go sub 15, but I think she can run sub 15:10, maybe even 15:05 if the pacing is good.
Watched Tuohy run 15:14 outdoors last year, closing sub 6 for last 2k. Left the track saying she was in sub 15 shape then. It looks like she’s in better shape now than she was then. If she just wants to hit a time to go to nationals, she will. But I assure you she can break 15 if she wants to

And, for those who remember how good Zofia Dudek was 3 years ago December when she won FootLocker a week after Tuohy won NXN, we could actually see her run her first track race as a collegian . . . possibly in the same race as Tuohy. Not that she'd give Katelyn any competition. Just an interesting scenario, given that in 2019 many/most thought Zofia was the better of the two at the time.
Comparing the 2019 nxn vs footlocker races Dudek's race was superior on a course with much much more history. Just my opinion

It was, and that 2019 NXN was probably Tuohy's worst XC race in her 3 hs years. But Dudek was very good that day in SD.
